Oracle MySQL has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Field Marketing Manager, North America.

 

This is a remote position with a preference for a candidate in the San Francisco Bay area and requires up to 50% travel.

About the Position:

As the Senior Field Marketing Manager for North America (NA) at Oracle MySQL, you will play a critical role in driving marketing strategy, campaigns, and events to support local sales teams, generate new business, and nurture and expand existing business. You will be responsible for the full spectrum of regional marketing efforts, ensuring alignment with global initiatives while tailoring them for the unique needs of the North American market.

What You Will DO: (Key Responsibilities)

  • Campaign and Event Strategy & Execution:
    Lead the creation, execution, and management of North American marketing campaigns and events (both live and digital) to drive lead generation, customer acquisition, and retention. This includes planning and managing webinars, industry events, and regional sales-focused activities.
  • Collaboration with Sales Leadership:
    Work closely with senior sales teams to develop high-impact, pipeline-building marketing strategies that align with MySQL’s business objectives. Regularly communicate with sales teams to ensure alignment and buy-in for marketing activities.
  • Regional Campaigns:
    Customize and adapt global marketing campaigns to the North American market. Coordinate efforts with worldwide MySQL marketing management and other Oracle marketing teams to ensure consistency in messaging and complementary strategies.
  • Lead Generation & Nurturing:
    Design and execute digital marketing programs, including email marketing, social media campaigns, and paid advertising, aimed at driving new customer acquisition and nurturing existing leads.
  • Event Management:
    Plan, manage, and attend various regional events, including user group meet-ups, community events, and industry conferences. Create targeted campaigns to drive attendance and engagement at these events.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    Partner with channel, partner, and other marketing teams within Oracle to leverage their resources and expand the reach of MySQL marketing initiatives.
  • ROI Measurement and Reporting:
    Track and analyze the ROI of marketing activities, using both quantitative and qualitative metrics. Regularly report on campaign performance to senior leadership and local sales teams, making data-driven adjustments to optimize results.
  • Customer references:
    Facilitate the development of customer references by working closely with customers and sales teams.
  • Budget Management:
    Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of expenses, and ensuring all activities are executed within budget.
 

What You Will Bring (Skills and Experience) :

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (4-year minimum).
  • MBA preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B field marketing, with a proven track record of driving successful campaigns, events, and lead-generation programs.
  • Experience in the technology industry, particularly open-source solutions, is a significant advantage.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, including social media, content marketing, SEO, SEM, and email marketing.
  • Experience with marketing automation tools and CRM systems (e.g., Eloqua).

 

Skills:

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with sales, product marketing, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage C-level executives and technical influencers.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working in a remote, virtual team setting, and willing to travel regularly within North America for in-person events.

  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in using data to inform decisions and optimize marketing strategies.
  • A passion for open-source technologies and the ability to communicate their business value effectively.
  • Willingness to actively engage with the open-source community, including user groups, meet-ups, and conferences.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $87,000 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
