Field Engineer I

The Field Engineer I, under general supervision, provides pre-sales, implementation, and post-sales support for Aristocrat gaming systems. Work with clients to provide troubleshooting and post installation support while complying with regulatory standards. Create after-action reports, monitor tribal changes, and maintain system setups for test labs. Work closely with compliance managers and gaming regulators. This role combines technical expertise with client-facing responsibilities, involving troubleshooting, system management, and working in a fast-paced, regulated industry. This role is primarily office-based with occasional exposure to casino environments, which may include noise and environmental conditions.

What You'll Do

  • Facilitates all Engineering communications with casinos.

  • Recommends and approves all software installs/upgrades at casinos utilizing the Customer Requirements process.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of industry.

  • Demonstrates an elevated level of troubleshooting abilities.

  • Executes project plans to completion within time and budget constraints.

  • Implements configuration, set up and implementation of gaming systems projects.

  • Provide post-implementation support.

  • Creates after-action reports for installations to capture lessons learned for future projects.

  • Participates and audits existing installations for compliance with standards and specifications.

  • Ability to work independently on customer facing tasks in a fast-changing technological environment.

  • Being aware of ongoing tribal changes, upgrades and modifications and reporting to all appropriate Aristocrat departments.

  • Consistent interactions with Aristocrat compliance managers and tribal gaming regulators to ensure compliance of all tribal requirements.

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining all aspects of Aristocrat gaming systems that reside at tribal test labs and backend vendor test labs.

  • Travel up to 75% is anticipated.

What We're Looking For

  • Understanding of Windows client-server architecture, including networking.

  • SME level Windows server administration, knowledge, and skills.

  • An understanding of SQL-Server administration.

  • Best practices approach to task design and execution.

  • Windows networking experience: configuration and management.

  • Cluster server and SAN experience desirable.

  • Competent interpersonal, oral, and written communication & presentation skills.

  • Must have well developed negotiation, presentation, and conflict management skills.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing work environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field and 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

  • 1-2 year’s experience in technical position.

  • Technical certifications are highly desirable such as A+, N+, Microsoft or Cisco.

  • Experience with casino environments desired.

  • Required to obtain Tribal Gaming licenses.

Physical Demands

  • Sitting/Standing/Walking: Approximately 50% of time is spent seated while working at a desk or in a meeting. Balance of time is spent standing or moving between work areas while performing other job duties.

  • Speak/Hear: Cultural and/or regional accepts are acceptable. Clear diction and acute hearing are necessary for effective communication with staff, co-workers, and clients.

  • Vision: Corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary for automobile and other travel responsibilities associated with position.

  • Reading/Handling: Incumbent should be able to retrieve and work with appropriate reports, paperwork, tools, and supplies, as necessary.

Work Environment

Work and office area is primarily inside a climate-controlled environment. While performing duties onsite at customer locations, the employee may be exposed to a smoking environment with noise levels ranging from quiet to loud. The employee may also occasionally be exposed to adverse weather conditions. Working conditions will consist of moving and working around customers of casinos. Aristocrat has a tobacco free office environment.

Pay Range

$58,605 - $108,838 per year

Our goal is to pay a market competitive salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education, skills, work location, and internal pay equity.
