Egg Packaging Sales Director

Job Summary:
TekniPlex is a diversified manufacturing company. We have over 12 plants in the USA and Mexico that produce egg cartons. In this home based role, the Egg Sales Leader will be responsible for all sales for the Egg category, across all materials (Fiber, Foam, Rigid Plastics, etc.), achieving financial plans, building relationships, and working collaboratively with other stakeholders (internal and external), such as Marketing & Business Development, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, etc. This individual will successfully lead the sales team a team across USA and Mexico. Travel will be approx 50%.
The primary goal of the Category Leader is to sell L1 and L2 products to existing and new customers to protect and grow the FFS business leading their respective sales team to execute on the sales strategy, develop and manage a strong sales pipeline, developing and managing accounts, protecting the company’s profitability through pricing and leading their teams into success. The Category Leader will do this by collaboratively planning and executing with cross-functional resources at multiple senior-levels internally and externally. This position is a member of the FFS America Sales team reporting to the VP of Sales.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy Execution:
Develop short- and long-term sales budget and forecasts, including reporting on daily, weekly and monthly progress, planning and executing activities to meet or exceed company objectives while minimizing sales expenses. Negotiate supply agreements and pricing with clients, ensuring profitable agreements. Work collaboratively to provide delivery dates to customer, investigate and resolve customer possible challenges related to customers’ orders. Identify and pursue opportunities to sell existing products to existing and new customers in the egg industry. Prepare and present reports on a regular basis. Travel through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on –site or by phone.
2. Sales Pipeline Management:
Monitor and continuously improve the Egg Sales Pipeline, working closely with Marketing and Business Development to constantly improve how we capture and manage new opportunities. Push opportunities forward and developing a deep understanding on why we win or lose opportunities, reporting results back to the business.
3. Key Account Management:
Foster strong relationships with current and new customers, addressing their needs and concerns promptly to ensure that TekniPlex is seen as a materials solutions provider of value-added products and services. Establish matrix teams and key account plans to create “sticky relationships” delivering unique solutions to address the KA short and long term business needs, protecting our business and growing share of wallet, etc. Create BSC for top customers and customer satisfaction KPI’s.
4. Price Management & Improvement:
Work with Sales Excellence team to use data analysis to evaluate the impact of pricing decisions on sales, profitability, and customer behavior. Continuously track pricing performance, sales data, and market trends to ensure pricing remains competitive and effective. Evaluate competitors’ pricing strategies and market positioning to stay competitive.
5. Team leadership:
Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team sales goals. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and performance, while developing followers and creating a strong bench for succession planning.
6. Performance Metrics:
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess sales team effectiveness. Provide regular reports and insights on sales performance to senior leadership.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in sales, business development, marketing or related area with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar area or Master’s degree in marketing, business administration or related field is a strong plus
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and achieving revenue targets in the packaging industry or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to design and deliver effective training programs.
- Results-oriented with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Deep understanding of Salesforce or similar CRM system is highly desirable.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desirable
Base Salary of $145,000 to $165,000 plus Incentives DOE
