Manufacturing Strategy, Business Development and Alliances Overview:

Manufacturing Strategy, Business Development and Alliances is responsible for the development and realization of the strategy for the Manufacturing division and oversees the core enterprise manufacturing functions. This includes the Strategy and Portfolio Management office, Global Supply Business Development (GSBD) which evaluates acquisitions, divestitures, and licensing opportunities, Manufacturing Business Alliance Management (MBAM) which manages our regional and global manufacturing strategic partnerships, Network Strategy and Third Party Sales (NSTPS) which oversees the global manufacturing footprint, global product source changes, STAIRS work and Third Party Contract Manufacturing and the Manufacturing Leadership Development Program (MLDP) which recruits and accelerates talent for the division.

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:

Responsible for executing business development and commercial activities resulting from our Manufacturing Division Network Action. Leads evaluation and execution of manufacturing facility divestiture or acquisition activity and the transition of supply obligations that result from one of these actions. Develops and negotiates the terms and conditions of Asset Sale Purchase, Transition Services, and/or Supply Agreements. Working within the terms of these agreements, the incumbent is responsible to effectively manage the third party from initial marketing or search efforts through transaction completion and the subsequent transition period.

This Position also provides contractual and commercial oversight as needed, where our Company acts as a CMO to a major third-party customer.

The position will lead strategic projects with responsibilities including:

Network Strategy Execution

  • In accordance with our Manufacturing Division Network Strategy, and in coordination with functional partners, evaluate and develop business cases for divestiture or acquisition of manufacturing capacity/sites across any region of the globe. 

  • Develop negotiation strategy and execute the Sale-Purchase, Transition Services, and Supply Agreement associated with such transaction.

  • Collaborate closely with all our Manufacturing Division functional areas (e.g. Legal, Finance, External Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, EHS, Procurement, Quality, Science & Technology, and Manufacturing Operations). 

  • Ensure that all divisional and manufacturing issues are addressed and optimized to meet both short and long term business objectives over the course of an ongoing supply relationship.

  • Provide leadership in negotiating supply and technical contracts that impact our Manufacturing Division in addition to being able to lead any transaction team that has a manufacturing/supply component. 

  • Routinely assess and understand resource requirements, supply, production plans, inventory, demand management, product costs, intellectual property, quality, capital needs, environmental, safety and industrial hygiene, compliance and financials in order to fully realize …
