Director, Global Sales Compensation

The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a Director, Global Sales Compensation to join our organization! As part of the Compensation team, the Global Sales Compensation Director will collaborate with Sales, Finance, and HR leadership to develop strategies for competitive pay and total rewards in Avantor’s sales force. The Director will lead all aspects of sales compensation plan design and execution, including plan creation, modeling & analysis, pay policy formulation, and all plan documentation.
This role will be a full-time, remote position.
What we’re looking for
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field
Experience: 10+ years’ experience in sales compensation, sales operations, business, or financial analyst roles
Firm grasp of the sales incentives administrative process flow including plan document distribution and tracking, transaction crediting, incentive calculations, payment file preparation, and issue resolution
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with a solid ability to drive towards action
Strong presentation skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
Knowledge of compensation principles, incentive plan design, and performance measurement
How you will thrive and create an impact
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of comprehensive sales incentive compensation programs that drive sales performance and aligns with organizational goals.
Partner with Sales, Finance, and HR teams to understand business strategies and needs, provide thought leadership and influence on sales incentive compensation matters, and ensure cohesive execution.
Develop clear and comprehensive communication strategies to educate global sales teams on incentive plans, ensuring understanding and motivation.
Ensure all incentive programs comply with relevant regulations, laws, and company policies.
Utilize data analytics to assess the effectiveness of incentive programs, identify opportunities for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations. Conduct ongoing feedback on effectiveness of current sales compensation plans.
Stay informed about industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices to ensure sales incentive programs remain competitive and impactful.
Develop analytics and dashboarding capabilities to report on key metrics.
Own the Sales Incentive Plan documents, including eligibility determination, payout calculations, and documentation
