Director, Commercial Training - Ophthalmology

The Director, Commercial Training (Ophthalmology) will report to the Executive Director, Commercial Training and is accountable for development, delivery and coordination of brand ophthalmology-specific training materials and associated training initiatives. We expect the Director to focus on the delivery of product and competitive knowledge, market access and customer interaction skills. We believe training support includes all areas of commercial including sales, marketing and reimbursement.

A Typical Day Includes:

  • Serves as Ophthalmology training lead, overseeing and leading the creation and facilitation of workshops for new hire training, POAs, indication launches, sustainment training, and other training meetings
  • Ensures utilization of best-in-class means of training delivery, including eLearning, self-study, computer-based training, audio/video, classroom and experiential learning to ensure the relevant teams are trained and to deliver, via a clinical selling model, the attributes of our products and services
  • Ensures all training is provided in accordance with company policies and procedures and are conducted in strict compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Ensures all developed materials are appropriately approved through the Medical/Legal/Regulatory (JRC) process
  • Performs other related duties as directed by the Executive Director of Commercial Training

  • You have expert-level knowledge of the disease, treatment, and competitive landscape of Ophthalmology
  • You can demonstrate expertise in curriculum design, workshop development, and the principles of adult learning
  • You bring strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to work across multiple departments and create effective teams
  • You have mastery in presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills are required with an ability to manage a virtual classroom environment that is engaging and allows learning objectives to be met

To be considered, we are expecting candidates to have 10 years of experience with a minimal of 2-3 years of training experience included. We are also looking for individuals to have a bachelors degree and can be in the office a few days a week.
