Database Admin API Developer

NVIDIA's Silicon Solutions Group is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to architect and lead several databases for a system-level automation team. The solutions developed will support multiple critical large-scale automation initiatives. You will be responsible for the entire database development life cycle in this role. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with hands-on experience to drive all database planning, design, optimization, maintenance, and debugging aspects. In addition, the candidate will need API development experience and will help to build an API using Python for each crafted database. This position requires collaboration with developers and other teams across the organization. What You'll Be Doing:

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient and scalable database structures and schemas

• Craft various APIs to talk to each database

• Conduct regular design performance audits and profiling

• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies

• Tune SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas for optimal performance

• Develop and implement database indexing strategies

• Collaborate with development teams to optimize application-database interactions

• Conduct analysis on scalability and planning for growth

• Root cause and resolve database-related problems, implementing effective solutions

• Coordinate with IT project managers, developers, and other team members

• Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and industry standards

What We Need to See:

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field

• 4+ years of Database Administrator experience

• 3+ years of API development with Python

• Strong proficiency in major RDBMS platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL)

• Detailed comprehension of SQL and database design principles

• Experience with database backup, recovery, and security procedures

• Familiarity with operating systems and server hardware

• Motivated self-starter with strong analytical and debug skills

• Ability to balance multiple simultaneous projects

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• Experience with PostgreSQL & cloud-based database platforms (e.g., AWS)

• Experience with API development, using FastAPI

• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and business intelligence tools

• Expertise in ORM technologies; familiarity with Python-based ORMs (e.g., Django ORM, SQLAlchemy, etc.) a plus

• AI development experience (e.g., Cursor, Copilot)

The base salary range is 148,000 USD - 287,500 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
