Your Career

As the Consulting Director of the Intel Services Team, you will split your time across direct client delivery, service development, guiding and organizing consultants, and cross organization collaborative efforts. You will do this by:

  1. Leading delivery of our Deep and Dark Web threat intelligence service: Oversee and guide a matrixed team of consultants delivering our Deep and Dark Web cyber threat intelligence offering. Ensure the timeliness and quality of delivery. Advance delivery practices, analytical methodologies, and automation to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the service. Engage customers throughout the entire support lifecycle from pre-sales to delivery to close out, providing hands-on, expert-level consulting support and threat intelligence expertise.

  2. Building and delivering on new threat intelligence service offerings: Work in partnership with Unit 42 Threat Intel and Consulting leadership to develop and deploy new threat intelligence service offerings for clients, such as customer requests for information and direct to customer reporting. Identify opportunities, work with go to market teams to build the business case, gain agreement on pricing and delivery models, pilot and refine the service(s), identify and lead resources to deliver the service(s), and build a sustainable practice. Serve as a trusted cyber threat intelligence security advisor for Unit 42’s most strategic customers, increase awareness of Unit 42’s capabilities, and provide on-demand expertise for client needs. 

  3. Aligning Threat Intel lead services with other existing and emerging cyber risk management services and Unit 42 outcomes: Collaborate with threat analysts, consultants, product managers, and engineers from various teams and departments across the organization. Foster strong relationships and coordinate joint efforts to address complex threats that span multiple areas of expertise. Ensure threat intel lead service offerings maintain a clear value proposition for customers as part of the broader portfolio of services. Support Unit 42’s security transformation program, elevating customer security outcomes.

  4. Performing team management: Be positioned to manage and mentor a team of intelligence consultants as services grow. This may include both matrixed resources as well as direct reports. Foster team members professional growth, provide guidance on delivery, and facilitate skill development to ensure a high-performing and cohesive team.

  5. Leveraging Unique Data Holdings: Harness the full weight of the company's unique data holdings, including product telemetry, front line Incident Response (IR) data, and partner information when delivering services. Utilize these resources to produce and communicate the most unique and valuable insights, enhancing the effectiveness and differentiation of our threat intelligence capabilities.

  • Contribute to External Engagement: Amplify Unit 42 presence and credibility in the marketplace through thought leadership, including via speaking engagements, publishing threat research, and media exposure.

Qualifications

Your Experience 

  • Deep technical experience in Cyber Threat Intelligence including actionable knowledge of cyber adversary groups, tactics, and techniques. Ability to leverage multiple telemetry types and intelligence sources to perform investigations and respond to client threat intelligence requests for information. Previous experience producing and/or leveraging Deep and Dark Web content to support defender use cases.

  • Equivalent of 10+ years of cybersecurity consulting experience serving large, multinational organizations. Client services mindset and top-notch client management skills. Experienced-based understanding of clients’ needs and desired outcomes in cybersecurity and cyber threat intelligence engagements.

  • Experienced team leader with demonstrated success in establishing and managing a threat intelligence services vision, strategy, and program.

  • Proven experience developing teams of intelligence consultants, fostering a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and career growth.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and triage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex threat intelligence information to diverse audiences.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent military experience - an advanced degree such as MS is a plus.

  • Identified ability to quickly grow into a valuable contributor to the practice and, specifically

    • have credibility, executive presence, and gravitas

    • be able to have a meaningful and rapid delivery contribution

    • have the potential and capacity to understand all aspects of the business, intel holdings,  and PANW products

    • be collaborative and able to build relationships internally, externally, and across all PANW functions, including the sales team

The Team

Unit 42 brings together our world-renowned threat researchers with an elite team of security consultants to create an intelligence-driven, response ready organization. The Unit 42 Threat Intelligence team provides threat research that enables security teams to understand adversary intent and attribution, while enhancing protections offered by our products and services to stop advanced attacks. As threats escalate, Unit 42 is available to advise customers on the latest risks, assess their readiness, and help them recover when the worst occurs.

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $183,000 - $252,000/YR. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
