About the team/role:
Business Development Officer is responsible for new client relationships, generating prospective client relationships, maintaining and adding to a productive pool of referral relationships. The BDO is responsible for meeting new business production targets, identifying prospective client relationships in line with credit policy objectives and meeting monthly sales targets.
To grow sales revenue by generating new business through direct calls, internal and external referrals, building relationships with referral sources and successfully selling of our factoring to new and existing WEX fuel clients.
Meet quota by the end of the year.
Individual Budget Goals are given at the end of each calendar year & measured accordingly.
The BDO will represent FOF at all times in a professional manner and ensure that the franchise value of the brand is supported by their activities and behavior.
How you'll make an impact:
To search for and implement new business opportunities to increase revenue. Such prospects to be in line with credit policy standards. The BDO has responsibility for generating the lead, putting together the client package, ensure all support documents are in place, application is signed and act as an intermediary with the underwriting process. It is a key deliverable for the BDO to gain the buying commitment from the prospect prior to the substantive part of the underwriting process commences forward. The BDO is responsible for making sure the Underwriter has all the relevant information including, but not limited to, a complete client package with supplementary information, signed application (with due diligence fee if required) and a completed client analysis setting out the key strengths and weaknesses of the prospect and their pertinent information needed for underwriting and portfolio management. To identify potential conference, exhibition, trade show, and presentation activities that could generate potential sales opportunities and bring to attention of Management to approve. To liaise with Fleet One sales team over internal referrals. The BDO will work with the client and the underwriter to ensure a smooth, timely and structured underwriting process. Responsible for reporting to the Management Group, FOF competitive strength and weaknesses in the market and potential opportunities in selected markets. The BDO is responsible for accurately entering and maintaining sales database records of contacts and activities and maintaining a diverse and productive referral base. The BDO will ensure they are up to date with Fleet One’s full product range and in a position to make the appropriate referral for appropriate opportunities. To ensure that best practice is both shared and implemented within FOF.
Experience you'll bring:
We are looking for an experienced and analytical individual with several years of experience from sales and business development Fleet One Factoring in the transportation or banking sector. Successful candidates have excellent holistic view, analytical skills and experience from creating strategies and bringing them into life.

Relevant academic degree 5-10 years of experience from sales/business development within the transportation sector or banking Strategic mindset Transportation Factoring end-user knowledge High level of integrity Great communication and people skills Proven track record of telesales success Organized and able to manage portfolio

Understanding of credit standards relevant to transportation factoring.
Team player able to work with others in underwriting and funding process to ensure smooth transition for credit approval and moving business from prospect to client.

Ability to communicate well with prospects and gain insight as to their billing process and back office structure.
Competent in computer skills with respect to writing client analysis & maintaining CRM or equivalent database records.
Knowledge of FactorSoft program
Must be able to take ownership / responsibility of work product.
