DESCRIPTION
Seeking an experienced and highly skilled Broadband Consulting Project Manager to lead and manage complex consulting projects. With limited supervision, this role plans, directs, and coordinates activities and resources aligned with projects to ensure that the goals and objectives of each project are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe and funding parameters.
Essential Duties:
· Lead and manage consulting projects focused on broadband strategies and solutions
· Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on broadband strategies, technologies, and best practices
· Provide expert advice and guidance to clients regarding IIJA BEAD and other funding programs
· Create and manage detailed project plans, resource allocations, timelines and budgets; monitor progress to ensure successful and timely project delivery
· Manage project risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure consulting project success
· Facilitate communication and collaboration among consulting project team members and stakeholders
· Provide technical guidance and support to consulting project teams, leveraging network engineering expertise
· Oversee/conduct broadband market assessments and feasibility studies to support consulting recommendations
· Prepare and present detailed reports and documentation required
· Coordinate with stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and service providers, to ensure consulting project goals are met
· Collaborate with team leadership and other executive stakeholders
· Support business development activities including growing portfolios of services for existing clients
· Generate and/or approve purchase orders, billing, credits
· Occasional to moderate travel may be required
· Stay up-to-date on industry trends, technologies, current and future applications, and best practices related to broadband and connectivity
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
· 5-7 years project management experience in broadband or related consulting
· Solid understanding of project and program management methodologies
· Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to broadband
· Comprehensive background or understanding of broadband policy, federal funding programs, digital equity/opportunity, workforce development
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
· Proficiency in project management software and tools
· Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage consulting project risks and issues
· Ability to prepare and present detailed reports and documentation
· Proven track record of effective communication, both written and verbal, complemented by strong presentation skills. Ability to engage with internal teams, clients, subconsultants, and vendors.
· Technical knowledge of broadband with an in-depth understanding of fiber optic, fixed and mobile wireless, cable, satellite and other telecommunications networks
· Excellent listening, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, and presentation abilities
· Creative thinker with the capacity to conceptualize innovative solutions
· Process-driven approach to work
· Demonstrated competence in managing change effectively
· Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, including Teams
· A professional attitude with a strong passion for contributing to the advancement of America’s information infrastructure, leveraging expertise in wireline and wireless communications technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP)
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $104,977.40-181,854.40 and will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
