Job Summary:

As an Associate Research Manager, you will lead a team of UX Researchers in the AI space, supporting Red Hat OpenShift AI and RHEL AI. This role is critical in navigating complexity, fostering collaboration, and ensuring user-centered solutions that align with business goals. In this role, you will manage and lead a team of researchers to develop and execute research initiatives that provide actionable insights across our AI solutions.

What you will do:

  • Manage and support the AI research team across multiple interconnected spaces, ensuring alignment and collaboration.

  • Navigate complex organizational dynamics to break down silos, facilitate cross-team collaboration, and drive alignment across spaces.

  • Ensure the UX research team executes a strategic insights agenda aligned with business needs, providing guidance and support to drive high-quality, impactful research outcomes.

  • Contribute to the development of research methodologies, tools, and processes.

  • Develop a deep understanding of Red Hat’s AI portfolio, including its business strategy, competitive landscape, and key users and use cases.

  • Champion user needs, ensuring research-driven insights shape product and solution improvements.

  • Foster a user-centered culture by advocating for research-informed decision-making and aligning priorities with UX goals.

  • Support and coach team members in their professional growth by providing continuous feedback, identifying development opportunities, and fostering a culture of learning.

  • Collaborate with other UXD Managers to advance the research practice, nurture team dynamics and culture, and support team well-being.

  • Establish and nurture partnerships with teams outside of UXD, leveraging cross-functional expertise to enhance research impact and broaden insights.

What you will bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in UX research, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.

  • Proven leadership experience managing and supporting UX research teams in complex, technical domains.

  • Experience conducting research in an enterprise or B2B software environment, particularly in complex technical domains.

  • Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including interviews, usability testing, surveys, ethnographic studies, and data analysis.

  • Familiarity with enterprise software users, workflows, and industry-specific challenges (e.g., cloud computing, AI, DevOps, or security).

The following will be considered a plus:

  • Deep understanding of AI technologies, user needs, and industry trends.

  • Anticipate research opportunities that align with strategic priorities.

The salary range for this position is $131,420.00 - $216,870.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
