Associate Principal Scientist, Outcomes Research

Under the guidance of a senior leader, an Associate Principal Scientist has primary responsibility for planning/managing real world and outcomes research activities for in-line and pipeline products to meet the value evidence needs of clinicians, health systems, payers, policymakers, and HTA/reimbursement agencies.

  • Participates in value and implementation (V&I) team. Contributes to development of value evidence strategies and outcomes research activities, while considering insights from internal and external stakeholders.

  • In collaboration with internal teams and external vendors/partners: designs, implements, and disseminates prioritized real-world evidence and outcomes research activities linked to V&I goals.

  • Responsible for study-related contracting, budgets, and vendor/partner management.

  • Support market affiliates to customize outcomes research documents, such as protocols and reimbursement dossiers, and adapt health economic evaluations, according to local requirements.

  • Work closely with cross functional teams to effectively communicate outcomes research and health economic modelling data internally and to external stakeholders.

  • Present outcomes research data at national and international congresses and publish articles in scientific journals.

  • Track use of real-world evidence/outcomes research study results to inform decision-making.

  • Maintain awareness of new scientific and methodological developments within therapeutic area and build relationships with scientific experts worldwide.

  • Knowledge of evolving payer and reimbursement environment: Understanding of US Value Assessments and other key market HTA requirements to inform value evidence and outcomes research strategies.

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, ScD, PharmD) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Outcomes Research, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Pharmaceutical Administration, Health Policy, Public Health)

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Advanced or professional degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Outcomes Research, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Pharmaceutical Administration, Public Health, Health Policy, Medicine, or Clinical Pharmacy)

  • 1-3 years relevant experience following advanced or professional degree
