The GT Customs North America Regional Lead shall be responsible for working with the GT Customs Director to oversee and manage the development, execution and sustainment of the Collins central customs program and coordinate with each SBU to drive operationalization of the program across the regimes throughout the North America region.  In alignment and coordination with the Collins SBU Customs teams and RTX GT, the Customs North America Associate Director is responsible for building strategic partnerships; providing guidance and support for the tactical resolutions of delays, product, and work transfer support; influencing key initiatives which promote business efficiencies, cost savings and OTD; and implementing Collins customs program including supporting the Customs Director in the development, tracking and analysis of Key KPIs to identify and address key risk areas across the North America region. 

This individual will work 100% remote.

What You Will Do:

  • Central GT Customs Lead supporting Collins SBU’s throughout the North America region; Provide guidance and direction to all SBU’s on key customs initiatives, i.e.: duty mitigation.

  • Responsible for analysis and implementation of regulatory changes which impact customs requirements in the region.

  • Work with the GT Customs Director to establish and implement strategic direction to all Global Trade Customs Compliance activities for Collins (which includes coordination and alignment with each of the SBUs and their sites) within the North America region. 

  • Drive sites customs regulatory assessments and the maintenance of North America region customs program and the alignment with the wider global strategy.

  • Responsible for collaboration with cross-functional teams to support operational requirements and ensuring compliance to trade regulations within the region.

  • Proactively partner with and influence key stakeholders, including Logistics leadership, Enterprise Operations, Centers of Excellence, RTX GT leadership, Customs House Brokers / Agents, and others, to ensure successful execution of programs and initiatives throughout the region. 

  • Development, enhancement, and deployment of a comprehensive customs compliance program.

  • In coordination with the GT Customs Global Director and the Global Customs Operational Excellence Lead, responsible for the implementation and oversight of infrastructure of global customs broker management platforms.

  • Support compliance investigations, disclosures and audits including remedial measures and corrective action implementation.

  • Implementation of RTX/Collins Aerospace Customs policy and procedural requirements across all Collins sites, VSLs, and functions within the region.

  • Analyze complex problems involving customs compliance and business risk and advise Collins leadership and other key stakeholders on proposed solutions.

  • Identify and analyze key data and metrics in support of Collins and RTX customs strategies, to identify and drive key actions for continuous improvements of the program.

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, tracking and sustainment of Collins GT Customs Focal Network throughout the region.

  • Development and implementation of communication and training within the region.

  • Must be willing and able to travel 20% of the time.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience 

  • Licensed Customs Broker or committed to achieving accreditation

  • 5+ years of prior customs specific experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior experience in global trade investigations.

  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally and identify potential trends or issues.

  • Aerospace or manufacturing industry experience.

  • SAP/GTS experience

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles* will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.  

*This position is remote; however, if you live within a reasonable commute of a Collins site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role

    The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
