We're seeking a sharp and driven B2B Sales Representative to join the Planetizen team and refine existing sales processes, focusing on business solutions in advertising and e-learning. The B2B Sales Representative will report to and work closely with our Director of Product and Operations to become an expert in our products and own the sales function at Planetizen. 

The Planetizen team is focused on growing our audience and our business, and the B2B Sales Representative will have an active and essential role in achieving our 1 year, 3 year, and 5 year goals. 

Key deliverables 

  • Strategy: Deliver comprehensive tactical sales plan in the first 90 days. Collaborate with the team to identify and understand target customers, develop key messaging, and determine the best tactics to reach sales goals.
  • Sales Development: Using prospecting tools to research organizations and decision-makers, develop outreach processes and scripts and drive outbound prospecting activities, including cold calling, emailing, and communicating our value proposition to decision makers.
  • Sales: Manage the entire sales lifecycle, from prospecting and first contact to nurturing leads through negotiation and closing deals. Own inbound and outbound sales. Achieve monthly sales targets. 
  • Account Management: Maintain and cultivate relationships with existing customers, ensuring customer satisfaction, gathering feedback, and overseeing renewals. 
  • Tools, Processes, and Reporting: Maintain and improve CRM records. Recommend and implement software tools, efficiencies, and sales automations to streamline the sales process. Track sales performance and analyze data to inform future sales strategies. 

Key requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in B2B sales.
  • Strong prospecting and research skills to identify and target potential customers in the urban planning industry.
  • A track record of success in B2B sales, preferably within or adjacent to the urban planning industry, e-learning products, advertising sales, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with sales tools like Pipedrive, Apollo, Salesloft, and Reply.io. 
  • Financial and business acumen.
  • Experience working remotely and independently on a sales team of one, with cross-functional support.
