Windows Engineer II

Overview
The Windows Engineer II will be primarily responsible for providing 24x7x365 support to our Windows OS managed customer base located in TierPoint datacenters and Cloud environments across the nation. The Windows Engineer II position will be a member of the Windows team. This role requires a client first mentality, high sense of ownership of problems and requests assigned, as well as a high level of attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Provides quality internal and external customer service surrounding the Company values.
- Windows server installation and quality assurance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer operating system issues.
- Participate in on-call support rotation responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2 – 5 years of experience with Windows Server Operating Systems version 2012 - 2019
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with Remote Desktop Services (RDS) or Terminal Services.
- Experience working with Internet Information Service (IIS) and or .NET.
- Understanding of Distributed File System Replication (DFSR.)
- Understanding of Windows monitoring protocols SNMP, WinRM, WMI.
- Understanding of Virtualization environments including VMware and Hyper-V hypervisors.
- Understanding of core networking concepts (IPv4, IPv6, VLANs, NAT.)
- Client management skills including written and verbal communication. Willingness to meet and work with clients to discuss and outline technologies and processes that could improve their current environment.
- Ability to participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and off hour maintenance responsibilities.
- Be a self-starter that can pickup new work assignments without specific direction from management
- Desire to improve upon existing systems and automate processes, including writing and maintaining documentation.
- Maintain a deep technical understanding of current and emerging products in the Windows server space.
- Experience with creating PowerShell Scripts
- Experience working with Windows Failover Clustering
Preferred Experience
- Experience with ConnectWise Patching
- 2 -5 years’ experience working in VMware environments
- 2 -5 years’ experience deploying new VMware based servers
- Understanding of Cloud fundamentals (Azure/AWS)

It’s important to note the pay range may be narrower than displayed, as various factors are used to determine the offered compensation package including skill set, level of experience, geographic locations, and other relevant factors- i.e. budgetary requirements.Pay Range $82,114.99 - $123,172.74
