Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claim Consultant to manage Texas Non-Subscriber claims across multiple accounts. This role requires extensive Texas Non-Subscriber claims handling experience and a Texas Adjuster’s License. The ideal candidate will have a background in non-subscriber, workers’ compensation, or liability claims and be comfortable working independently in a hybrid or remote environment. Minimal travel may be required for meetings and training.
Responsibilities
Investigate, evaluate, and adjust Texas Non-Subscriber claims in compliance with state laws and client handling standards.
Establish reserves and provide recommendations within assigned authority levels.
Review, approve, and oversee medical, legal, and damage estimates to ensure accuracy and reasonableness.
Authorize and process claim payments in accordance with industry standards and within payment authority.
Negotiate settlements within Corporate Claim Standards, client handling instructions, and state laws.
Coordinate and oversee external vendors, including legal counsel, surveillance, and case management providers.
Assess and monitor subrogation claims for potential recovery.
Maintain clear and accurate claim documentation, updating personal diary entries in the claim system.
Ensure effective and timely communication with clients, claimants, and relevant parties throughout the claim process.
Prepare detailed claim status reports, including payment and reserve details, as needed.
Compute disability rates in compliance with Texas state laws.
Participate in claim reviews, training sessions, and client meetings as needed.
Attend hearings, mediations, and legal conferences, as appropriate.
Adhere to Corporate Claim Handling Standards and client-specific handling instructions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years handling Texas Non-Subscriber claims.
Licensing: Must hold a Texas Adjuster’s License.
Skills:
Strong analytical and investigative skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in claims management systems.
Effective negotiation and settlement skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload.
