Job Description

Information about the Role, Line of Business and Team:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced multi-faceted individual to support our Accident & Health SBU team leaders. This role is pivotal in driving underwriting excellence, profitability and operational efficiencies while providing mentorship and guidance to SBU underwriters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting, reinsurance, and contract negotiation. This individual will work across all SBU products with underwriters and other internal stakeholders including actuarial, business development, claims and IT to support existing and new business. In addition, this individual will work with existing and new clients to onboard new business and support existing business.

What you will do:• Support A&H team leaders in achieving underwriting goals and maintaining profitability• Analyze and monitor underwriting performance to ensure alignment with company profitability targets• Mentor and develop underwriters, providing guidance on reinsurance strategies and best practices• Review and assess reinsurance arrangements to optimize risk management and financial outcomes• Assist underwriters in the contract review process, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements• Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic initiatives for the A&H division• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including reinsurers, brokers, MGU’s, etc.• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance underwriting efficiency and effectiveness• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field• Minimum of 15 years of experience in A&H underwriting, with a proven track record of leadership and profitability management• In-depth knowledge of reinsurance and contract review processes

Crum & Forster is committed to ensuring a workplace free from discriminatory pay disparities and complying with applicable pay equity laws.  Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $130,700 to a maximum of $245,900. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
