About the Role:

Drive development and implementation of corporate policy through strategic partnerships with government and industry groups aligning with business objectives. Act as organization contact for legislative and public policy matters. Serves as company liaison to and fosters relationships with key members of government and industry groups to promote company interests

What You Will Do:

  • Develops and maintains understanding of the financial services public policy landscape relevant to the organization through monitoring federal and state legislation and applicable regulatory rules.
  • Develops and executes public policy strategies to support and enable the company to execute its longterm strategic goals. Collaborates cross-functionally with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Investor Relations, and Communications to achieve the strategic goals of the company.
  • Provides strategic recommendations on research and analysis of legislative proposals and rules promulgated by the regulatory agencies.
  • Partners closely with company leadership to understand the impact and significance of potential legislative or regulatory actions on company current and future business.
  • Identifies, monitors, prepares, and provides updates to Executive and company leadership teams, the Board of Directors, and company at-large.
  • Collaborates with company leadership as it relates to the organization’s strategic business objectives from a public policy perspective.
  • Develops materials in support of government relations agenda, including white papers, talking points, and reporting updates.
  • Manages lobby reports including quarterly FEC filed lobby reports.
  • Develops strategies for engagement opportunities for business line leaders and subject matter experts on public policy material to the organization. Identify and obtain opportunities for expanding company engagement and participation with member-associations.
  • Drives internal education and awareness of Government relations function and implement events and other activities to support company policy objectives. 
  • Develops and maintains relationships with industry contacts, the Administration, and elected officials and their offices; and advocate important issues and priorities with legislators and regulators. Lead and manage external consultant relationships.
  • Leads PAC participation strategy and offers strategic contribution recommendations.
  • Develops and executes plans to increase external awareness of the organization and its thought leadership in the public policy sphere.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need:

  • Develops corporate and/or organizational policies and authorizes their implementation. Detailed knowledge of company allows for innovative concepts and promoting new ideas. Provides direction to senior managers in various areas, groups, and/or operations. Recognized as an influential leader.
  • Consistently works with abstract ideas or situations across functional areas of the business. Through assessment of intangible variables, identifies and evaluates fundamental issues, providing strategy and Job Description direction for major functional areas.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of the functional area, business strategies, and the company’s goals. 
  • Directs and controls the activities of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups or service areas through senior managers who have overall responsibility for the successful operation of those assigned areas
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory policymaking.
  • Demonstrated skills in developing and maintaining relationships with the public.
  • The ability to analyze and interpret legislation and rules.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Typically 12+ years with bachelor's or equivalent. Master's degree preferred.

Salary range: $145,796.47 – $240,564.18

The salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this role. Individual pay within the range will be determined by multiple factors which can include but are not limited to a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary for your location during the hiring process. Ranges may be modified in the future.
