As the SVP of Engineering for our Provider vertical, you will shape the technical vision for the vertical while also partnering closely with Product and Operations executives to drive our company-wide Provider strategy. You will lead other leaders who set the technical vision for their teams developing products for our “Provider” set of customers. You will lead a large org that owns provider products, our manual manual retrivaldigital network, and data connectivity. Your north star will be the performance of our Provider business (Revenue, Gross Margin, EBITDA, etc.) and you’ll establish technical objectives and key results to support those business outcomes (e.g. uptime, accuracy of request matching, open critical vulnerabilities, change failure rate, predictability of roadmap delivery, etc.) as appropriate to track progress. This role is key to driving some of the most important initiatives across the enterprise.
In This Role You Will:
- Build, grow, and lead a world-class team of senior engineering managers and engineers who build our Provider-facing products. This includes attracting top engineering talent, mentoring and guiding engineering leaders, and creating a culture of collaboration and innovation
- Create and drive the technical vision and strategy for Datavant’s suite of Provider-facing products, ensuring that it aligns with business objectives
- Partner with executive-level leaders in Product to ship value to customers. You will also interface with customers and ensure that you are part of the customer feedback-loop
- Partner with Provider GMs to drive business value and to make executive-level decisions around engineering in support of business objectives
- Be a critical leader of the Provider data products and business, delivering rapid revenue and customer growth by directing how customer use cases, capabilities, positioning, and more come together to create a winning product
- Be the champion & driver of product innovation processes & initiatives
- Be hands-on by leading high impact efforts
- Be a strong communicator, coach, and mentor
What You Bring to the Table:
- You have 20+ years of engineering experience including multiple years in leadership ranging from building scrappy teams from scratch to building large enterprise software.
- Former CTO / EVP / SVP experience at a large (>$100m) company
- You are passionate about building a business that transforms the healthcare industry
- You have a hunger to win and ensure that you bring your team and stakeholders along to be successful
- You can both “lead” and “do”
- You are ambitious, scrappy, tenacious, and you get things done
- You are comfortable making hard decisions and move quickly
- You are noted as one of the best problem solvers in your organization
- You have experience managing leaders of teams
- You have experience in healthcare or other highly regulated field like financial services
- You are highly organized and reliable; you bring structure to complexity

Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job. The estimated salary range for this role is $310,000-$400,000.
