We are seeking a Vice President of Carrier Development who will be directly responsible for building and executing the carrier development strategy internally and externally with eHealth’s robust portfolio of carriers. The ability to lead a team of Regional Vice Presidents combined with experienced sales and communication skills is critical to the success of this role.
The Vice President of Carrier Development must possess strong financial and analytical acumen to ensure appropriate financial metrics and revenue targets are achieved for the business. The successful candidate will be required to develop effective relationships and partnerships externally to drive new business that aligns with the company’s corporate objectives and to execute effectively internally and cross-functionally with finance, marketing, sales, product management, engineering, legal, and other segments of the business.

What you’ll do:
Manage, cultivate and grow the executive level relationships with our key carrier partners to ensure eHealth remains a market leader within the sales and distribution segment.
Bring entrepreneurial speed and spirit to the business, with innovation and a passion to win. Focused on supporting and growing our choice agency business as well as our emerging Amplify business unit.
Negotiate contracts, commissions and strategic agreements to maximize revenue and market competitiveness.
Sell and execute/implement partnership activity, bringing the functional components of the business together to drive revenue growth for the company.
Collaborate internally with professionals in the finance, marketing, product, sales, and compliance groups to lever the respective strengths and assets of the company to achieve business objectives.
Identify, prospect, qualify, negotiate and close deals in an aggressive timeframe.
Develop revenue models to analyze and prioritize deals.
Identify market gaps and emerging trends.
Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, state insurance laws and contractual obligations with carriers.
Lead and mentor RVP carrier team driving high performance and execution.
You will demonstrate eHealth’s values in your behaviors, practices, and decisions.
What you’ll bring
10+ years’ experience in the Medicare sales and distribution business, with a strong focus on business development and account management.
BS or BA Degree.
Proactive and business development-oriented leader that can create, deploy, and lead a best-of-class business solution that can unlock the full market potential of eHealth’s suite of core products and solutions nationally.
Deep understanding of the Medicare Industry and regulatory landscape.
Demonstrated leadership abilities to impact relationship activities with external carriers and drive execution with internal resources.
Deep understanding of revenue operations specific to the carrier development business.
Extensive knowledge of contracts and strong contract negotiating skills.
Excellent communication skills and the proven ability to influence shared services.
Demonstrated track record of success with a high degree of intellectual energy and a bias for action, influence and competitive spirit.
In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; proficiency in Powerpoint and Excel.
Ability to work effectively remotely, while traveling.
Must be able to travel extensively.

The base pay range reflects the anticipated pay range for this position. The actual base pay offered will depend on various factors including individual skills, experience, performance, qualifications, the department budget, and the location where work is performed. Base pay is one component of eHealth’s total rewards package, which also includes an annual performance bonus, plus an array of benefits designed to support employees’ personal and professional wellness.
