The VP of Product will lead a new team of product managers and designers dedicated to driving a cohesive member experience that includes both digital and warm touch guiding the evolution of our member facing mobile/web app and the technologies that enable our supporting services. You will be responsible for leading the intersection of technology, user interactions, and business functions to optimize the experience for our members, care advocates and coaches, leading to an exemplary member experience and internal operational excellence.  We are looking for a passionate advocate of customer centered design, leading with a research-oriented mindset through metrics-first investigation of current business and system processes, developing hypotheses aligned on value-metrics that are tested through implementation and experimentation.  
 
What you’ll do… 

  • Coach, lead and grow a product and design team focused on our member experience.  

  • Strategically guide initiatives through leadership involving product research, strategy, planning, and lifecycle management efforts to clearly map the intersection of technology, user needs, and business functions. 

  • Guide quantitative and qualitative evidence capture highlighting the seamless nature of Progyny product experience for members, care advocates and coaches to inform ideal user experience hypotheses.   

  • Develop compelling and thorough journey maps and user scenarios that articulate a product vision backed by solid quantitative and qualitative research analyses. 

  • Partner cross-functionally with stakeholders across the organization to define product and market requirements, and effectively navigate around experience frictions and headwinds. 

  • Curate strong relationships with stakeholders, partners and customers in support of joint exploration and feedback to improve the product experience  

  • Monitor business, market, and technology trends to inform product strategy and proactively propose new solutions, especially around closing functional gaps and optimizing existing resources. 

  • Take a holistic and collaborative approach to product design and strategy, which includes, but is not limited to engaging with sales/commercial, commercial product management, marketing, member services aligning on product investment priorities. 

  • Be a strategic partner to the business and help drive operational excellence while supporting revenue growth through client retention and customer satisfaction. 

  • Inform and guide the strategic roadmap for member experience to pursue the right balance of innovation with execution. 

  • Coordinate and collaborate closely with engineering and product stakeholders to champion strategically impactful initiatives as well as achieve tactical wins for the business. 

  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products in light of business goals. 

  • Continually validate products with internal and external customer feedback and against business goals. 

  • Help determine internal and contract/external resources and skills required for the delivery teams to deliver on the product strategy and roadmap. 

 

About you… 

  • 10+ years leading teams focused on experience research and design initiatives for users in both current and future products and interaction touchpoints (human and digital) 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead development and education on the incorporation of journey mapping to user goals, proactively helping inform the delivery of high-quality product experiences 

  • Experience in both quantitative and qualitative evidence capture to inform ideal user experience hypotheses 

  • Proven experience coordinating with engineering, product, senior leadership and executive stakeholders to champion initiatives that optimize experiences towards the ideal member progression and support, with empathy as a core consideration 

  • Experience in managing backlogs and teasing out strategic focus in balance with tactical goals that drive value for the business  

  • Experience leading structured ideation sessions (ex: IDEO models) with a focus on getting to plan 

  • Familiarity with business/systems analysis and process modelling techniques (ex: BPMN) 

  • Familiarity with user experience research models and where to apply pragmatically to inform delivery efforts (ex: Cooper personas, Heuristics evaluations, prototyping, etc.) 

  • Experience in analytic models for system/user impact effectiveness and applicability/limitations (A/B testing, conjoint analysis, NPS, TURF, etc.) 

  • Experience in working through analytic data and presenting results in familiar patterns to executive leadership (ex: Sanke charting) 

  • Knowledge of common/established healthcare delivery models, constituents, compliance obligations and other constraints

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $245,000 - $255,000. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
