As a Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) Referral Coordinator at Virta, you will play a crucial role in managing the referral process for our veteran members, ensuring seamless and efficient care coordination with VA Medical Centers and health plan partners. This role is essential to ensure our veteran members are receiving high quality and timely care. 

Responsibilities
  • Own, manage and execute an end-to-end referral process including referral packet creation, tracking, and follow-ups with clinicians and administrative staff at the VA Medical Center.  

  • Lead bi-weekly meetings with Health Plan partners to provide status updates, troubleshoot, and collaborate on strategic initiatives and process improvements. 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all referral-related activities.

  • Act as a liaison between VA Medical Centers, veterans, and internal Virta teams to facilitate efficient communication and problem resolution.

  • Handle medical records documentation post-approval of referrals.

  • Utilize spreadsheets to track and manage multiple referrals simultaneously.

  • Support process documentation and drive improvements to facilitate potential partnership expansions.

Must-Haves
  • 2+ years of experience in a coordination or administrative role.

  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with VA medical centers, health plans, veterans, and internal teams.

  • Expertise in utilizing spreadsheets for effective information tracking, management, and providing accurate status updates. 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

  • Professional demeanor with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement strategic solutions.

Nice-to-Haves
  • Previous experience working with VA Medical Centers or in a healthcare setting.

  • Experience in a telehealth or digital health company.

  • Familiarity with ZenDesk or similar customer support platforms.

  • Understanding of healthcare regulations related to referrals and compliance.

Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
