Vendor Operations Manager - Financial Services

This role will help drive the operational and financial success of the Connected Living Financial Services claims operation for Card Benefits programs with a focus on Assurant’s business process outsourcing (BPO) relationships. This is accomplished by managing and continually improving operational and quality activities and requirements, and maintaining strong communication among Assurant and its contracted vendor partners.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Operational Management
- Accountable for the operational and quality performance of services delivered by vendor partners, including but not limited to goals/objectives, process improvement, resource management, obstacle identification, financial performance, and overall solutions.
- Assists in issue resolution, identifying and addressing root cause(s) of issues related to vendor partner performance, and controlling/improving moving forward.
- Identifies and addresses trends impacting customer service, quality, and cost, and develops and implements action plans, taking corrective action with vendor partners as necessary.
- Works with vendor partners to help them deliver best-in-class service, ensuring both internal and external customer satisfaction, and maintaining a cost-effective service solution.
- Addresses all escalations and performance issues with vendor partners.
- Ensures compliance with action plans and recommendations.
- Identifies strategies to reduce costs and makes recommendations to leadership for overall program improvement and optimization.
- Analyze project reports to identify outliers and address as appropriate.
- Provide regular communication to leadership, including senior leadership, to ensure visibility to vendor partner performance.
- Constantly reinforces our expectations with our vendor partners.
- Coordinates and leads business reviews with assigned vendor partners.
Analytical Assignments
- Review and distribute all monthly scorecards to appropriate vendor partner teams.
- Maintain reporting process documentation.
- Act as liaison between operational and Connected Living reporting teams.
- Conduct business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses to align and track performance of business initiatives.
- Coordinate assigned projects with internal and external parties, as assigned, to ensure completion by targeted due dates.
- Track initiative progress and ensure deadlines are met; review initiative progress with management.
Review and submit all monthly and ad-hoc invoices paid by the Connected Living Claims Operations team, ensuring adherence to Governance and contractual requirements
- Primary point of contact with Assurant’s Accounts Payable organization for Connected Living.
- Represent the interests of Assurant as a daily operational and expense point of contact for assigned vendors/service providers.
- Ensure the adherence to operational, quality, staffing, and expense requirements per client requirements and vendor agreements.
- Lead training of all vendor reporting and invoicing requirements for new vendor partner personnel.
- Manage the tracking of all individual expenses by vendor over time.
- Provide analytical and financial support in assisting with the development and implementation of new or existing products, processes and/or vendor relationships.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- 4 year degree in business or analytics preferred
- Possesses the ability to communicate technical concepts in non-technical terms when working with non-technical customers
- Complex problem-solving skills
- 5+ years of experience working with 3rd party vendors preferred
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Professional, friendly, and courteous demeanor, and able to work well with teammates and internal and external business partners
- Acts with high degree of integrity and ability to exercise sound judgement.
- Proven time management skills and experience
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and assignments
- Works under minimal direction

Pay Range:
$72,900.00 - $121,900.00Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
