US Military Manager

Remote - USA

The Military Sales Manager will lead CD and collaborate with teams within the defined geography to achieve growth targets. Leverage DLA (Defense Logistics Agency) contract and Military Broker to grow existing branches of the US Military, Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard and all other civilian locations. This role will require development and execution of annual plans aligned to both the strategic agendas of UFS and the US Military.

What You’ll Need To Succeed: 

  • 5+ years sales experience in foodservice or Military equivalent required 
  • Branded Executional Experience   
  • Proven track record of sales growth 
  • High Degree of Business & financial acumen 
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset 
  • Disciplined execution 
  • Coaching and Development (Broker and UFS TDM's)
  • Negotiation (trade and Military personnel) 
  • Sales analysis (One-2-One Reporting, specific to US Military)
  • Strategy, help adhere to Military standards and policy
  • Manage DLA, Appropriated and Non-Appropriated Accounts (+Broker)
  • Manage/submit BID Pricing weekly to build pipeline for UFS

Main Responsibilities:  

  • ·Leading, coaching and developing CD team (+Broker) within geography 
  • Strategically targeting and executing new business leveraging DLA contract (Military Bases 40% of time, Broker 30% and, Distributor/TDM, 30% of time) 
  • Full execution of UFS Annual Operating Plan and quarterly initiatives  
  • Lead and train UFS & Broker team to expand reach to all branches of the US Military  
  • Cultivating relationships with internal stakeholders in order to achieve Military standards of shelf-life, quality and, ingredient (i.e. sodium) requirements.
  • Maintain favorable relationship with DLA, submit updated pricing monthly and, act as a liaison between UFS-DLA-Distributor-TDM-Consolidator to better promote Unilever Food Solution’s products 
  • Lead and train Broker team to partner with top dining facilities and chefs to develop and grow their business 

DLA (Defense Logistics Agency)

  • Awards All  Military Contracts to Distributors.  Assigns Military numbers for Distributors.  Mandates  80% Shelf Life and 95% Fill Rate Policy (Mandate)

Appropriated Accounts.

  •  Government Provides Military Funds to Purchase Food.  On-Going BIDs, Nutritional Requirements and distributors utilize DLA Contracts for order guidance.

Non-Appropriated Accounts

  • Accounts within the Military Base (usually Civilian operated) such as Golf Courses & Clubs.  Essentially, an SIO operating on a Military Base.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $83,200 to $124,700. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
