Tool Technician    

Summary:

The Tool Technician’s goal is to facilitate positive relations with Nextracker tool support customers worldwide. The Tool Technician ensures that NEXTracker’s tools and Installation out-perform customer expectations and are of the highest quality possible by providing great technical support services for the NEXTracker on site tool support program.

Responsibilities:

Provides technical support for Nextracker tool support customers ensuring a best-in-class customer experience. Translate and interpret tooling schematics, product literature and safe operating procedures to support on site tool support programs and construction installation. Adherence to all Nextracker safety standards. Responsible party for creating Job Hazard Analysis and mandatory site-specific safety documents. Plan, schedule and execute delivery and onsite build out of Nextracker’s tool support workshops.  Establish and maintain effective communication channels with Nextracker’s Field Operations Tooling Manager and on-site customers. Work with management to forecast construction schedules, contracted tool support, specific site requests and internal documentation initiatives. Work in conjunction with owners, customers, subcontractors and Nextracker management on site specific tooling and construction initiatives. Provide guidance, training and technical support to Nextracker customers, temporary labor and sub-contractors with issues concerning Nextracker tooling and installation best practices. Provide training on initial setup, calibration and preventative maintenance of installation tools for non-tool support customers as requested to increase customer satisfaction and future sales.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience with installation tools preferred.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Competency in safe operation of various equipment types (forklifts, Reach Forklifts, Bobcats, Scissor lifts, etc.)
  • Proficient with basic on-site construction equipment (laser levels, transits, etc.)
  • Entry level skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of construction math and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective client relationships.
  • Safe work practices in accordance with Regional, state and local EH&S regulations
  • Detail-oriented and solution driven
  • Willing to travel up to 100% as required
  • Previous experience on solar projects desired.

Salary Range Applicable to California - $75,000-$90,000
