Market Development Representative (Timberland PRO)

What will you do? 

A day in the life of a Marketing Development Representative for Timberland looks a little like this. 

  • The Market Development Representative is responsible for representing Timberland PRO with key account retailers and other prospective customers while developing long-term business relationships. 
  • Working in tandem with the Senior Account Executive (AE), you will identify opportunities to place Timberland PRO footwear, grow the assortment and make sure PRO shows up properly visualized in all points of distribution. 
  • You will also have new product template duties and will work regularly with the boot mobiles. 
  • You will create a service distinction with these key retail partners through detailed account visit planning and a thorough understanding of our customer’s business. 
  • By developing a thorough understanding of the marketplace (competitor information, consumer understanding, current/future market opportunities, etc.), you will ensure proper visual standards are being adhered to by our customers. 
  • You will work proactively and collaboratively with the Account Executive to properly leverage marketing programs, and support and leverage Timberland’s commerce and justice platform. 

As a trusted member of our team you will report to a Senior Account Executive. You'll collaborate and liaise with the regional sales teams, and work closely with the Sales Planning and Marketing teams to support account needs. 

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more. You will be responsible for:

  • Helping the Senior AE with selling to and managing key accounts.
  • All new product templates, technical clinics, merchandising and promotions and special events for these key accounts with local, regional, and national touches determined by the Senior AE. Additionally, you may take part in the same on a broader national level determined by the Director of Sales or the National Sales Manager.
