USA CA Remote

#WeAreCrowdStrike and our mission is to stop breaches. As a global leader in cybersecurity, our team changed the game. Since our inception, our market leading cloud-native platform has offered unparalleled protection against the most sophisticated cyberattacks. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing over 1 trillion events a day with a petabyte of RAM deployed in our Cassandra clusters - and this traffic is growing daily. We’re looking for people with limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to developing and shaping our cybersecurity platform. Consistently recognized as a top workplace, CrowdStrike is committed to cultivating an inclusive, remote-first culture that offers people the autonomy and flexibility to balance the needs of work and life while taking their career to the next level. Interested in working for a company that sets the standard and leads with integrity? Join us on a mission that matters - one team, one fight.

About the Role:

As a Technical Writer III, you’ll write customer-focused product documentation that helps customers maximize their use of our solutions. You’ll work closely with other writers, product managers, engineers, UX designers, and QA testers to develop a deep understanding of complex products and what users need to know to use them effectively.

What You’ll Do:

  • Produce high-quality product documentation, release notes, API documentation and more to guide and educate customers.

  • Develop deep product knowledge through researching, partnering with SMEs, and using the product.

  • Embrace our modern, conversational voice and tone and follow our writing team’s standards, processes, and best practices.

  • Partner with other technical writers and with UX designers, product managers, engineers, QA testers and other stakeholders to embed yourself in the software development process.

  • Participate in collaborative content reviews and implement feedback to make your documentation best-in-class.

  • Tailor documentation to the intended audiences and advocate for the customer in all aspects of your job.

  • Independently manage your own projects.

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience with DITA/XML and structured authoring.

  • Demonstrated understanding of topic-based authoring and reusable information architecture.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with tight deadlines and high expectations.

  • Excellent writing skills, including thoughtful information hierarchy, great sentence structure, and a conversational yet professional voice.

  • A user-centric focus on what the customer needs, not what the system does.

  • Strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and appreciation for process.

  • Portfolio of writing samples that demonstrate your ability to make complex technical subjects easy to comprehend for an intended audience.

Bonus Points:

  • Understanding of the needs of an IT admin audience, such as software deployment and updates, script-based commands at scale, user authentication and management, and similar tasks

  • Familiarity with a docs-as-code model or experience using Git for documentation source control.

  • Knowledge of and experience with cybersecurity.
