Location: Remote - Canada (Candidates based in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia or willing to relocate)
Description:
WES is looking for a highly skilled Technical Product Owner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will act as a bridge between our engineering teams and stakeholders to facilitate the development efforts for products ensuring they meet our customers’ needs and align with our business goals. You will be responsible for defining product vision, managing the product backlog and driving the development process from ideation to launch.
Duties included but not limited to:
- Defines and articulates the product vision and strategy for Salesforce solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer needs.
- Serves as direct representative of the business, representing the customers' perspective throughout the product delivery cycle.
- Works with the business to understand business strategy and vision and then gathers and translate technical requirements into clear user stories to support effective and compliant technology solutions while balancing investment and business value.
- Partners with cross functional teams, including sales, marketing, customer support and production to gather requirements gaining an advanced understanding of the needs, measures, and risks & controls for the process area
- Owns and maintains a prioritized product work backlog ensuring that features and enhancements align with business priorities and user feedback.
- Develops detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for Salesforce features, ensuring clarity and alignment with user needs and business objectives.
- Oversees the implementation and integration of Salesforce solutions, working closely with developers and administrators to ensure successful delivery and adherence to best practices.
- Works closely with engineering and development teams to ensure a shared understanding of technical requirements and priorities
- Evaluates the technical feasibility of proposed features and enhancements, collaborating with architects and developers to assess impacts
- Maintains a solid understanding of system architecture, data flow and integration points within the product ecosystem
- Participates in a cross-functional team of user experience partners, designers, business analysts, developers, testers and others to develop, execute and release in alignment with program and/or product roadmaps.
- Creates and maintains high-quality project documents and diagrams including but not limited to business requirements, functional design, technical specifications and interface diagrams, process flows, gap analysis, use cases, requirements traceability matrix, test scenarios and quality measures, and end user transition and training guidelines.
- Plans, coordinates and facilitates key requirements workshops with stakeholders, subject matter experts and technical teams, and ensures alignment with user experience best practices.
- Works closely with the project teams to solve problems and facilitate impediment resolution in a timely, cost-effective manner in order to drive continuous improvement and ultimately, business owner satisfaction.
- Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
- Prepares the business for the change and provides tactics and metrics for benefits, adoption, and risk.
- Writes acceptance criteria and generate test scenarios for the QA team, and assist them with requirements clarifications, defect triage and regression testing
- Facilitates the UAT process by conducting training and providing walkthroughs of new features to stakeholders and users and guiding them through the user acceptance testing process.
- Maintains an active record of status of all in-flight requirements.
- Ensures consistency of all project artifacts and project communications.
The Ideal Candidate will:
- Be user/customer focused and highly proficient in developing and evaluating requirements and technical specifications to ensure quality of project deliverables into production and provide positive customer experience
- Translate business needs into detailed software requirements and support tasks utilizing Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies
- Have the ability to simplify detailed projects and process information in order to effectively communicate technical information verbally and in writing
- Understand Business Analysis and QA processes, best practices and deliverables
- Have strong facilitation skills to lead discussions across multiple groups and liaison between stakeholders and technical teams
- Foster a team atmosphere and encourage team members to contribute to innovative solutions
- Have outstanding interpersonal, communication and coordination skills and the ability to take command/charge of requirements sessions if they begin to digress or go off-topic
- Have a strong drive to complete commitments even when faced with ambiguity
- Have the ability to work with a fast-paced project with several stakeholders
- Be able to work on multiple tasks/projects at a time and move from one project to the next
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision and within tight deadlines
- Have experience with Jira/Confluence for managing requirements and issue tracking
Requirements:
- Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Information Systems related field or equivalent work experience
- At least 5 years of Product Owner or business analysis experience working with software engineering and product development teams to build dynamic web-based solutions
- Industry best practice qualifications (ITIL, PMI-ACP, CSM, CSPO) are highly desired
- Experience working with the systems development lifecycle utilizing Agile, Scrum and Waterfall methodologies
- Knowledge of multiple technology platforms and software such as Microsoft Office Applications, JIRA, Confluence, .NET, HTML, SQL and JavaScript
- In-depth knowledge of Salesforce platform features, capabilities, and best practices
- Familiarity with Salesforce development, API integrations, cloud technologies, and software architecture principles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and synthesizing skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
