Job Description:

DTN’s Eco Platform teams build the shared components and services that collectively power DTN's vertical product lines in our weather, agriculture, and energy sectors. This is an individual contributor role which will need to collaborate with and influence product and development peers to deliver technical solutions for both internal teams and end users. 

As such, we seek candidates experienced in both making and implementing technical product decisions for the following types of software products: 

  • SaaS - customers pay a subscription fee to access the software 
  • Enterprise software - used by 5 or more customers in production 
  • B2B or B2C products with transactional or ad-supported business models and high transaction volumes ( >10K per mo) 

What you will be responsible for:

  • Application / component architecture and design - write, edit and revise technical specs and detailed acceptance criteria for releases

  • Review release demos and reject deliveries not meeting the functional standards described in your acceptance criteria 

  • Collect and analyzing data needed to understand problems, determine the best option from a set of candidate solutions, and clearly articulate the information needed for its widespread and efficient adoption 

What you bring to the role:

  • Proficiency in discussing technical issues with software engineering teams. A bachelor's degree plus a background in software development, engineering or a physical science is preferred but not required   

  • 3+ years working on technology-powered products as either a product manager, product designer, engineer, data scientist, or user researcher. Experience with a platform product for software developers is preferred but not essential 

  • Meticulous attention to detail - for combing through epics and covering all requirements discovered during problem definition 

  • A bias towards and willingness to sign up for results, even when this means having to work through others to achieve the necessary outcome
