Central Laboratory Services is part of a global contract research organization within Labcorp. We offer the world’s largest network of central laboratories and support global clinical trials testing. A common set of processes, procedures, and instrumentation is offered throughout our sites in Europe, Asia/Pacific, and the United States, allowing us to receive samples globally and provide more than 700 assays across all laboratory science disciplines.
LabCorp is seeking a Technical Account Manager. This is a strategic position and will be accountable to influence decisions that enable study delivery, consistency, and efficiencies. You will engage early in the sourcing process with the sponsor and LabCorp technical, operational and scientific resources to support building relationships in the client organization, analyze pipeline or compound information, and formulate robust planning and operational delivery. This will include identifying technical challenges and risks for a study or program and how to manage these, preparing study setup, coordinating scientific engagement and lab capabilities and preparing for assay validations if required, ELMS activities pertaining to lab capabilities, and innovation opportunities and resource readiness. The TAM will analyze the financial performance of studies at a protocol/program level and identify trends in order to recommend efficiencies and/or process improvements.
The TAM will report into the Strategic Partnership Technical Lead and have direct connections to multiple Sponsor and LabCorp Key Stakeholders.
This role will require up to 25% travel within the US with some potential travel within EU.
This is a remote position and can be homebased anywhere in the US.
Responsibilities:
Participate actively as a consultant and facilitator for early engagement activities to coordinate the management of medium and long term operational and scientific needs.
Review and/or compare the operational and scientific requirements for new studies or programs to ensure appropriate study setup is discussed with the sponsor.
Ensure assays and technology are available to minimize study set up times.
Work with sponsor, Business Development leads, study managers, biomarker leads, and sample managers for bio sample management activities.
Drive client decisions to enable efficient and cost-effective study delivery.
Develop and maintain tracking tools for historical information, program information, and upcoming pipeline.
Track efficiencies to reduce Change Orders and develop and maintain portfolio efficiencies.
Analyze requirements at a program or study level for: resource readiness for lab requirements and/or other key departments/services and technical and operational requirements (kit design and resupply strategy, regulatory environment, logistics challenges and pricing, supplies required, etc).
Design a Visit Test Schedule specific to the study(s) that includes historical assumptions seen on a similar study or program already conducted by Labcorp Drug Development CLS for potential scenario budgeting.
Participate in identifying innovative opportunities to strengthen the business alliance.
Develop and maintain historical information on program/studies performed for the client portfolio. Support BDD in implementation of the development of a network of the key biomarker experts internally and externally.
Interface with Labcorp BDDs, Sponsor Procurement and Operations staff, Client Services and Operations teams and perform account level financial analysis to track trends for improved efficiencies in program and therapeutic area awards.
Minimum Experience Required:
Minimum of 7-10 years in industry
Strong business acumen
Capability to translate analytical and technical skills into solid business cases to influence decisions
Demonstrated customer focus and networking
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Strategic planning, organizational, negotiation and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated high degree of initiative and ability to work independently
Fluent in English
Preferred Experience:
Technical or lab experience helpful
Pharma or CRO experience
Ability to influence change
Strong scientific acumen
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Pay Range: 88-195K
All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers.
