Job Description:
Job Summary
This is role is on the Claims Shared Services on the Disability, Absence Finance/Tax Team and will run reporting, answering tax and financial related questions on disability and absence claims. Be a liaison/QA between claims and central tax/legal/compliance departments.
Accountabilities
- Roles including but not limited to:
- Running claims reports for other departments and external clients
- Daily Wire
- Tax Remittance
- Income Benefit Reports
- Anti-Money Laundering
- Answering general tax inquires
- Testing data files for year-end tax filings
- Create Claim of Right and refiling reimbursement letters to clients and claimants
- Issuing funds
- Tax refiling reimbursement
- TDI Bank Funding
- Tax Refund
- Order payments for invoices
- Premium Deduction Distribution
- Distribution of stale funds to Client and State
- Processing overpayment payments and canceling payments
- Manual overrides in Tax System
- Late Original W2s and 1099s
- W2cs and 1099 Corrected
- Tax Adjustments
- Research Stale Checks for Escheatment
- Reissue stale checks to Client or State
- Responds to all e-mail and phone inquiries within 48 hours
- Conducts training sessions for new and existing employees
- Maintains high levels of customer service with internal and external clients
- As the position develops and changes with the needs of the business, you will be expected to adapt to the changes accordingly
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree preferred with a minimum of 3+ years experience
- Tax, Escheatment and Accounting knowledge or experience preferred
- Proficient with Windows and Microsoft application ( MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word)
- Ability to work and solve problems independently
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Good communication (verbal and written) skills
- Time management skills
- Ability to negotiate and influence others without authority

• Southern California region: $55,900-75,500 - $max annually
• Central California region: $55,900-- $75,500 annually
• Northern California region: $59,700 - $80, annually
If you are a Minnesota, Colorado or Nevada resident, the salary range for this position is $50,600 - $68,300 annually
If you are a Illinois, Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is $53,000 - $71,600 annually
If you are Washington, Washington D.C., and Rhode Island resident, the salary range for this position is $55,900 - $75,500 annually
If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $55,900 - $75,500 annually
