Tax Manager, North America

Remote US NC

Red Hat is looking to hire a leader for the North America tax team. In this role, you will have a wide range of responsibilities, including managing the sharing of data with IBM, acting as advisor to the Red Hat business, and managing two FTE associates. You will report into the Global Tax Director.

What you will do:

  • Lead and support the North America Tax team

  • Review the annual PTI forecast for internal stakeholder purposes

  • Review tax clauses in sales contracts and work with legal and sales team

  • Engage with other teams on transfer pricing queries as appropriate

  • Manage data analyses; Identify and propose solutions for notable data issues

  • Manage proper accounting and tax account reconciliations in areas of expertise; Oversee process to ensure accurate tax is reflected on invoices; Identify and propose solutions for noted issues with appropriate Red Hat teams

  • Extract reports from Oracle and subsystems

  • Review and approve templates for tax payments, journal entries, and monthly account reconciliations

  • Manage proper accounting for uncertain tax positions in area of responsibility; Oversee compliance with business and process controls and manage testing activities

  • Lead special projects of complex scope and provide in-depth guidance to other Red Hat departments.

What you will bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/ CA preferred

  • 10+ years of experience with 3+ years of experience working in a managerial capacity 

  • Previous experience in Big 4 accounting firm and U.S. multinational company 

  • Familiarity with local GAAP, U.S. GAAP, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

  • Experience with SOX controls

  • Experience working with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system 

  • Ability to work without direct supervision 

  • Motivated, direct, resilient, and adaptable 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential for working with a wide range of stakeholders

The salary range for this position is $103,290.00 - $170,500.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
