Our work depends on a Systems Analyst Sr. Advisor resource joining our team to provide engineering support for Middleware platforms which support many key revenue generating, mail moving and tracking applications.  This work this is essential to the postal service and is growing as postal service modernize technology platforms and improve availability and resiliency of its platforms.

HOW A SYSTEMS ANALYST SR. ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Provides technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation
  • Support a multi-tenant Kubernetes platform ecosystem for on-premises and cloud service providers (Azure, Aws and GCP)  
  • Lead container adoption and onboarding of applications on to platform
  • Develop and maintain provisioning and application on-boarding process
  • Prepare, test & release software patches as per the schedule determined by USPS
  • Research and respond to security vulnerabilities and provide remediation
  • Provide Tier 3 support for issues escalated from operations team
  • Work with vendors to troubleshoot and implementation of new solutions
  • Create and maintain documentation and SOPs
  • Setup DevOps pipeline for automated deployment
  • Daily support of escalated incidents, changes
  • Manage new and renewal security certificates
  • Work on special projects as assigned
  • Support Kubernetes/Rancher platform hosted in on-premises datacenter hosting business critical applications

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline – required

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience with application development

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Hands-on experience with DevOps
  • Experience with Azure (preferred), AWS and/or GCP
  • Experience with multiple vendor solutions like Rancher, GKE, AKS, EKS, ROSA
  • Experience with Podman/Docker
  • Ingres/Egress Controller Configuration
  • Write automation with Ansible/Terraform or similar tools
  • Design/Implementation of service mesh//Istio
  • Provision Rancher/Kubernetes cluster
  • Service Mesh/Istio configuration and support
  • Performance monitoring using Prometheus
  • Linux server configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Tomcat, WildFly, Kafka, and ZooKeeper configuration and troubleshooting
  • Kubernetes/Rancher experience
  • Experience in middleware support is a plus
  • Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments.
  • Proficiency in the use of one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment.
  • Good troubleshooting skills for Unix shell scripting, Ansible playbooks
  • Familiar with RedHat/AWX Tower

Certifications:

  • Certification in any cloud platform
  • Certifications in automation tools like Ansible and Terraform, are helpful but not required

Security Clearance Level:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to be a U.S. Citizen and to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.

  • Preference is to have a candidate located in Eagan, MN. Will consider remote.

The likely salary range for this position is $122,366 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
