Job Description Summary
As part of the legal team assigned to support Transamerica’s Stable Value Solutions (SVS) business, manage all aspects of the contracting function for SVS. Provide expert advice and guidance, coordinate and lead contracting/amendment projects from the legal department’s perspective, form part of a multidisciplinary team in contract and template negotiations, and design group annuity contract forms for filing with state insurance departments.Job Description
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead all aspects of contracting/amendment projects form the legal department’s perspective.
- Participate as a subject matter expert in contract and template negotiations and related activities through to execution, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient results.
- Develop and maintain client-specific templates of SVS’s stable value contract deals.
- Serve as a subject matter expert consulting with multidisciplinary business team for matters relating to contract production, amendments, templates, waivers, records, etc., including employing knowledge of unique contract provision requiring special administrative/business processes, monitoring, or risk management action.
- Communicate with external parties such as SVS’s stable value management clients, legal counsel, and state insurance regulators as required.
- Manage numerous network directories and databases with mission-critical business documentation, including filed/approved contract forms, approved plans of operation, Word versions of executed contract documentation, client-specific templates, and files relating to in-flight projects.
- Manage group annuity contract form filing projects, including the design of group annuity contracts and statements of variability and subject matter expert-level assistance with the development of plans of operation, coordinating such efforts with relevant subject matter experts from multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor relevant regulatory changes and provide guidance and assistance to the business in implementing any changes to business processes.
- Coordinate SVS’s responses on non-financial aspects of state insurance department exams of SVS’s business.
Qualifications
- Paralegal degree or legal training/experience as a legal assistant or contract analyst
- Ten years of related experience, including six years working with complex contracts in a transactional setting
- Thorough knowledge of insurance industry regulations for product filing
- Communication skills to clearly articulate information verbally and in writing
- Decision-making, problem-solving, and reasoning skills to interpret and respond to complex information
- Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and plan/develop schedules
- Attention to detail to maintain high quality standards
- Strong aptitude for legal, financial, and investment concepts
- Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team of fellow subject matter experts
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word

Compensation:
The salary for this position generally ranges between $120,000-$125,000. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.
Bonus Eligibility:
This position is also typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at Company Discretion.
