HCC Coding Supervisor for the Training team serves as a working supervisor with oversight and management of HCC Coding team members who are participating in onboarding and continuing education trainings. This includes monitoring new employees’ progression through training, monitoring production and quality of our Coding Training team, working with direct reports on the Coding Training team to push for improvements in the way we train and onboard our new teammates, and providing clear communication of expectations. This position supports and coaches front line talent to ensure the highest level of service to clients and ultimately the patient lives we impact. 

You will:

  • Supervise day-to-day team performance, conduct 1:1’s, and performance assessments.
  • Oversee and participate in the creation and presentation of new training materials to better support new employees participating in onboarding and continuing education training sessions
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving time sheets and time off requests. 
  • Receive, merge and track quality, productivity, and feedback for all team members. 
  • Provide summary of productivity findings on daily basis, including education on time management and best coding practices. 
  • Provide coaching and feedback on achieving production and quality standards of the role. 
  • Report trends for education opportunities to management for review and/or action.  
  • Motivate team members through effective training, supplemental materials and coaching to improve quality and production. 
  • Apply guidelines and concepts as indicated. 
  • Serve as resource and subject matter expert to staff. 
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements. 
  • Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.  

What you will bring to the table: 

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Training Leadership position
  • AHIMA certified credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS) or AAPC certified credentials (CPC, CPC-H, COC, CIC, CRC) 
  • Extensive knowledge of ICD -9/10 
  • 2 years coding experience, required. 
  • Familiarity with HCC coding.
  • A strong knowledge base of medical terminology, medical abbreviations, pharmacology and disease processes. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining adherence to high quality standards. 
  • Must be able to follow instructions, meet deadlines and work independently. 
  • Ability to be flexible in work environment. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work in a remote environment and time management skills. 
  • Working knowledge of the business use of computer hardware and software to ensure effectiveness and quality of the processing and security of the data.

Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job. The estimated salary range for this role is $67,000-80,000.
