 As the Strategy Advancement Advisor in the Consumer Segmentation team, you will serve as a thought-partner, collaborator, and change-agent to develop strategy and help drive change in how Humana develops and organizes its offerings and value propositions around the needs of consumer segments to drive disproportionate growth and value. This is an enterprise priority and recent examples of success include the Full Access Medicare Advantage products. You will partner closely with senior leadership on a portfolio of projects, ranging from new strategies, innovative market pilots, large transformative initiatives, to tactical experience and operational improvements. This role requires strong strategic thinking skills, quant skills, a propensity for action, the ability to work independently, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills.

Developing and organizing Humana’s offerings and value propositions around the needs of consumer segments to drive disproportionate growth and value is a key enterprise priority. The Consumer Segment team is an entrepreneurial, multi-functional team within Humana’s Enterprise Growth Function leading that charge.  The team is focused on driving industry leading Medicare membership growth, retention and health outcomes by identifying new consumer insights, developing growth strategies, and activating them across the enterprise to serve the unique needs of prioritized segments. These include both established demographic segments, e.g. Dual Eligibles, Veterans, and a proprietary, needs-based segmentation.

About the role: 
As the Strategy Advancement Advisor in the Retail Customer Segmentation team, you will serve as a thought-partner, collaborator, and change-agent to develop strategy and help drive change across our key segments. You will partner closely with senior leadership on a portfolio of projects ranging from new strategies, large transformative initiatives, to tactical experience and operational improvements. The range of activities balances short- and long-term impact: partnering simultaneously on the design, testing, and implementation of core operational changes, while setting and managing roadmap efforts toward multi-year sustainable growth and transformation.

Sample project work:

  • Developing a de novo strategy to deliver simpler care, health equity, best outcomes, and sustainable growth for chosen focus segments

  • Developing an innovative concept for designing and marketing our product portfolio, and leading the pilot in select markets, e.g. the Full Access Medicare Advantage Plans launched in 2025

  • Leading an update of the segmentation definitions and analytical models from start to finish from collecting feedback and requirements from business partners, to scoping and executing consumer research with a vendor, to ensuring that the new insights flow through in our data models 

What you will do:

  • Manage high-profile, high-impact strategy projects from developing an approach to delivering recommendations and final deliverables

  • Partner with Senior Medicare & Medicaid and Enterprise Leadership to develop strategies and tactical plans that drive growth, reimagine experiences, and improve health outcomes

  • Develop high quality analysis and deliverables that clearly frame growth objectives, issues/challenges, and articulate compelling /insightful findings, conclusions, and recommendations

  • Conduct interviews, working sessions, and report-outs with leaders across Humana

  • Oversee industry, market, competitor, and financial analysis

  • Work collaboratively with fellow team members and leaders across Humana

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full-time, post-graduate degree work experience with a top tier strategy or management consulting firm

  • Demonstrated ability and passion for bringing structure to ambiguity/working in ‘white space’ and independently managing strategy engagements from conception to final deliverables

  • Highly collaborative, flexible, team-oriented working style

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform complex qualitative and quantitative analysis

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Ability to quickly build and maintain trust with senior business leaders

  • MBA, MA/MS, PhD, or graduate degree in a management field, with outstanding academic credentials

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior healthcare industry experience, preferably in the managed care or provider sector

Work-At-Home Information

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.

  • Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$138,200 - $190,100 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
