Amplify is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Analyst who will be responsible for assisting with managing relationships and enforcement of contracts with suppliers who manufacture K-12 educational products. The successful candidate will report to the Strategic Sourcing Manager and have a deep understanding of book paper and printing, as well as the seasonality of K-12 publishing. This candidate must also understand book specifications, the costs related to book printing and be able to conduct a comparative analysis of price scales, with a track record of managing supplier relationships



Essential Responsibilities:

  • Monitor KPIs and enforce contracts with printers to ensure that Amplify products are produced to the required quality and cost standards.

  • Work closely with the Manufacturing team to ensure product specifications and paper types are assigned to all items, which factor into sourcing cost calculations.

  • Manage printer pricing scales and develop "should cost" models to determine fair pricing for book printing.

  • Conduct quantitative analysis to evaluate supplier scale adherence and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Assist the Strategic Sourcing Manager with RFP processes from documenting expectations to creating an RFP, answering bidder questions, making selection recommendations, and integrating price scales and service levels into SIOP planning processes.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, such as the publishing and editorial teams, to understand their needs and requirements for book printing.

  • Evaluate proposals from potential suppliers and recommend selections based on quality, cost, schedules and other factors.

  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure that they meet delivery and quality standards, and work closely with them to resolve any issues that arise.

  • Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures, and that all contracts are properly documented and filed.

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in book paper and printing technology, and identify opportunities to improve the procurement process.
