Exciting opportunity awaits for a passionate and skilled Biostatistics Manager in the dynamic Coronary and Renal Denervation Operating Unit of Medtronic.
The Coronary & Renal Denervation therapies are a vital component of the Medtronic interventional cardiology portfolio. In addition to our core products that address blocked coronary arteries, we are at the forefront of the transformational renal denervation therapy to treat high blood pressure.

A Day in the Life
Designs, plans and executes biostatistical components of plans for research and development projects that establish the conditions essential for determining safety, efficacy, and marketability of medical device products.
Uses sound statistical methodology to conduct studies relating to the life cycle of the product.
In development-phase projects, prepares the statistical component of protocols which meet project objectives, health authority guidelines, and clinical trial methodology standards.
Develops and/or applies statistical theories, methods, and software.
Summarizes and interprets data into tabular and graphical formats amenable to principles of statistical inference and is responsible for the statistical component of reports describing studies, outcomes and methods used.
Provides specifications and statistical directions to the clinicians/statistical programmers.
Partner with the clinical team in trial design and in establishing standards for clinical conduct, and the collection, management and/or reporting of data.
Provide statistical leadership and guidance to statistical team. Consults with staff on statistical and analysis issues. Oversee the statistics function to ensure optimal study design, protocol development, analysis plans, sample size estimation, data analyses and interpretation of results.
Manage statistical function of clinical research. Manage staff including the hiring, supervision, training, coaching, and performance evaluation of staff; coordinates activities and plans resources to meet clinical study and regulatory requirements, as well as publication and scientific conference presentation activities.
Supports the regulatory review and approval of the experimental therapies.
Plan, prioritize and oversee project level activities and ensure efficient resource management.
Be accountable for timeliness and quality of study/submission level statistical deliverables on assigned projects. Ensure that all statistics activities are conducted in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and Medtronic standards.
Provide leadership in the development and implementation of statistical process improvements.
Must Have (Minimum Requirements):
In order to be considered for this position, the following requirements must be evident on your resume.
Bachelors degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in the design and analysis of clinical studies
OR
Advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years experience in the design and analysis of clinical studies
Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):
Master’s or advanced degree in statistics or biostatistics
Medical device experience
Management and supervisory experience
Experience effectively writing and verbally communicating to all levels internally and externally within a regulated environment.
Experience effectively collaborating with different functional groups.
