Job Description

The Position

NBCUniversal Data, Measurement & Insights (DM&I) is responsible for advancing the underlying science of how the right audience interacting with the right content drives incremental business performance for our advertisers. Our division services both internal and external customers around research, data science, first-party identity and data products, and ad insights & measurement that directly supports NBCUniversal’s advertising business and enterprise data initiatives.

The Strategy and Operations team of the Data, Measurement and Insights organization is currently seeking a Manager of Strategy & Operations to manage data and measurement related programs and projects at various levels. This position will lead strategic projects and programs to support business priorities, and manage organizational workflow standards and governance to ensure efficient product delivery.

This position requires excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills with a collaborative mentality as the role will include coordination with external vendors and partners as well as internal stakeholders across NBCU.

This position will report to the Sr. Manager, Strategy & Operations, and will be a key stakeholder to the Data, Measurement & Insights team within the NBCUniversal Ad Sales organization.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Strategy & Operations, the person in this role will:

  • Manage cross-functional strategic projects, such as due dilligence and POV, and coordinate between internal stakeholders and third-party resources.
  • Lead program management of small to medium-sized projects or secondary role on large projects or program-level initiatives.
  • Provide measurement vendor operational support and partner management to support internal cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Manage the relationship with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates and track status on the active and requested initiatives.
  • Proactively identify project risks and mitigation strategies to ensure successful project execution.
  • Create and maintain the DM&I Strategy & Operations program management templates, frameworks, and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to build and leverage best practices, processes, and relationships across the teams.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, experience, and training in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in public cloud infrastructure and tools, software development, and automation.
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, or an equivalent.
  • Strong, proven proficiency with AWS, especially with core services such as Lambda, and ECS; experience with AWS best practices and familiarity with a broad range of AWS tools and services.
  • Ability to provide mentorship to grow the technical skills and careers of others with consideration of their career stage and personal trajectory
  • Passion for DevOps culture, automation, and modern tooling
  • Ability to communicate effectively depending on the audience technical teams, business teams, and leadership teams

Desired Characteristics:

  • Basic familiarity with cloud platforms Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP); ability to navigate and understand fundamental tools and concepts within these environments is a plus
  • Experience in end-to-end API Gateway development, particularly Kong.
  • Strong networking skills and F5 BIG-IP and Cloudflare experience are highly desirable.
  • Experience with modern build strategies, continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests required. Continuous delivery experience preferred. Tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions preferred.
  • Experience delivering software using an agile development process
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively connect with both business and technical teams
  • Ability to work and participate in a team with an open and collaborative style of communications
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team

Salary range: $145,000 - $210,000 (bonus eligible)
