Summary:
As a YA Senior Regional Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), you will provide high quality consulting services relating to environmental impacts and health hazards associated with catastrophic loss for YA’s customers, which include insurance companies, third-party adjusters and independent businesses and insureds. You will be responsible for managing a team of experts on large complex projects overseeing each of our clients’ business and operations in defining and controlling costs associated with damaged structure and will deliver detailed written reports outlining the expert recommendations, extent of damage, risk mitigation, and future prevention plans. Senior Regional Certified Industrial Hygienist are expected to use a large measure of independent judgement, considering, and weighing alternatives when appropriate, considering the financial and operational significance of the services being performed.    The Senior Regional CIH will foster strong client relationships and contribute to business growth. The ideal candidate has experience building and maintaining rapport with clients.  
Role & Responsibilities:
  • Leads a team of consultants on complex projects, providing development, training, and mentoring to ensure their expertise in all aspects of project work. 
  • Conducts quality control reviews of junior consultant work product, before submission to the client, ensuring all project deliverables are accurate and timely. 
  • Ensures workload is evenly distributed amongst experts.
  • Communicates with clientele regarding scope of work, investigation tasks, budget, and project completion timelines/deadlines.
  • Conducts building inspections to identify hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, combustion byproducts as well as other toxins or harmful agents.
  • Conducts assessments and testing for Category 3 impacts/conditions.
  • Collects bulk, surface, air, soil and water samples for hazardous constituents. 
  • Conducts indoor air quality (IAQ), exposure and risk assessments. 
  • Develops sampling plans and criteria for environmental impact assessments and/or post-remediation verification (PRV) assessments.
  • Reviews, interprets and synthesizes relevant information to prepare protocols, scopes, studies, and project reports.
  • Manages projects and staff to ensure successful completion of assignments and delivery of high-quality work product. 
  • Performs analysis of invoices, budgets, schedules, and reports on behalf of the clients.
  • Communicates and corresponds regularly with clients, insurance companies, adjusters, and insureds. 
  • Drives regional growth by recruiting consultants and actively participating in business development efforts. Builds and maintain rapport with existing clients, while also generating new work for yourself and your team of experts.
  • Partners with business development representatives, attending conferences and events to promote the company and the skills of expert staff.
  • Works independently on small to medium sized projects and part of a team on larger losses, collaborating both internally and externally.   
  • Maintains job files, documentation, and other relevant deliverables.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Environmental Sciences, or Biological Sciences. 
  • 10+ years consulting experience conducting environmental consulting.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) required. 
  • Applicable Mold, Asbestos, and Lead certification/licenses are preferred.
  • Ability to travel required (30%).
 Compensation:
  • Total Compensation Range: $70,000 - $190,000 (inclusive of base salary + bonus potential.)
