Compensation: $140,000 - $150,000 per year. You are eligible to a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 7.5% of your annual earnings, terms and conditions apply.
Sr. Product Manager - Pharma / Partnerships (Hybrid-Aliso Viejo or Remote, USA)
Job Overview:
The Senior Product Manager, Pharma / Partnerships is responsible for product management activities related to Ambry’s pharma services business and outside partnerships, serving as a subject matter expert on market needs, competitive landscape, in opportunity assessment and the development of sales support collateral. This role will further scope responsibility for Ambry's sample collection kits - a key client experience touch point - and includes oversight of sustaining activities for existing configurations as well as the assessment of business cases, client needs and design requirements for new kit / BOM development.
Essential Functions:
- Collect and analyze competitive intel, market dynamics, and customer feedback
- Liaise with the research and development departments to communicate customer needs based on competitive and market research
- Develop short term and longer-term pharma services strategy, identifying new opportunities addressable by the Ambry product portfolio
- Develop overall marketing strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets
- Lead strategy, planning and execution for trade shows and conferences
- Establishes product positioning and messaging
- Develop sales tools and promotional materials
- Partner with Business Development and R&D to develop KOL engagements and the creation of relevant whitepapers/publications/presentations.
- Partner with Corporate Marketing and Communications team to develop high impact web, PR and social media content
- Partner with Client Support, Quality / Regulatory, Supply Chain and other functions to manage sample collection kits and BOM configurations, including requests for kit development / updates
- Travel up to 15%

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience with the majority working in a product management function
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, which includes 2-3 years of experience in product management or product development
- Prior experience in product management for a service organization in the pharma, clinical and/or life science field
- Experience working in a regulated commercial environment
- Demonstrated success defining and launching products and/or services
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or molecular diagnostics industry.
- Experience in highly complex and competitive markets
- Demonstrates advanced capability within the following key areas:
- Customer, product, and market Insights: Ability to understand, integrate and synthesize insights across customers, competitors, therapeutic or business areas and markets to inform customer-centric business decisions
- Financial acumen: Ability to use financial information and capabilities to inform investment decisions, manage external partners and budgets, and drive sound business decisions
- Value creation: Ability to develop and communicate the unique value and promise that Ambry products and solutions provide to its customers
- Business strategy: Ability to make choices and identify key metrics to deliver measurable customer and financial objectives that drive business forward
- Account marketing and partnerships: Ability to identify, develop and maximize effective working relationships with customers and partners to gain alignment on customer needs and optimize business and customer outcomes - Deep analytical, interpersonal, and strategic capabilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Strong presentation skills
- Displays keen attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Ability to translate complex scientific concepts to compelling commercial messaging
- Strong focus on customer needs – committed to delving deep into the challenges they present or experience
Preferred:
- MBA, or other related graduate level degree preferred experience
- Knowledge of genetic testing and technical knowledge of genome analysis, next-generation sequencing, microarrays and molecular biology
- Critical thinking skills, superior leadership, and cross-functional communication skills
- Ability to successfully manage complex projects and influence multi-disciplinary teams
- Demonstrated effectiveness as a product marketer, with experience bringing several successful products to the market
- Specific experience and understanding of system and assay requirements for genomic technologies
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative market research tools, including user-centered innovation, market survey
