This individual will develop and support detailed activities of the 4 Pillars of the Product Safety Management System (Safety Policy, Safety Risk Management, Safety Assurance, Safety Promotion).

Demonstrate PS assurance through creation and management of metrics and milestones for Product Safety Assurance Office and data applications. Provide support to SBUs Product Safety Managers and their teams as required.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and implement strategies to support the four pillars and develop and update metrics across RTX. Monitor progress, analyze data, and report on trends to identify areas for improvement

  • Lead initiatives to foster a strong, positive safety culture throughout the organization. Advocate for safety at all levels, ensuring that safety considerations are integrated into every aspect of operations

  • Supports comprehensive safety assessments, both internally and with external partners. Use findings to drive improvements and ensure alignment with regulatory and industry standards

  • Leverage best practices and identify emerging capabilities to better support the product safety office 

  • Demonstrate superior project management and communication skills and be able to provide timely, accurate and detailed reports and presentations to executive leadership 

  • Although not the primary person responsible for interfacing with business unit product safety and external entities, this role has support responsibility for the engagement with industry leaders, Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and Raytheon PSO offices and other function executives to advocate and promote projects relevant to RTX product safety strategic initiatives

  • Must excel in a strategic role where you independently set your own pace and establish project milestones

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required 

  • 3+ years experience in technical disciplines with focus on product integrity, including experience with product safety and quality or other related fields

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior experience in Aerospace and Defense

  • Experience with assessing and mitigating risks while leading innovation and SMS process excellence, including familiarity with different safety risk management tools

  • Demonstrated capability in innovating, maturing, and improving product safety processes 

  • Aviation safety regulatory and accident investigation knowledge 

  • Experience working with data analytics tools including with Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and information systems

  • Experience in using continuous improvement tools (CORE, Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles* will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.  

*This position is remote; however, if you live within a reasonable commute of a Collins site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
