Sr Manager Software Engineering

Job Description:

  • Manage a team of software engineers, overseeing the development of software products and solutions. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, ensuring successful project completion and customer satisfaction
  • For a teams supporting applicationsin an on-premise and cloud environment
  • Responsible for coaching and providing the daily hands-on management or employees working in a multi-disciplined operation from multiple geographic areas
  • Sets, monitors and measures KPI's, SLA's/SLO's and initiates and enforces standards, policies and procedures.
  • Promote a culture of constant improvement.
  • Maintains staffing demand by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.
  • Assist employees with Individual Growth Opportunities, development Plans, Skills Profiles with a focus on improving overall team performance.
  • Identifies problems, manages issues, incidents, trends and risks across the IT stack.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead management of incidents,
  • Coordinate with teams for resolution, analyze and remediate complex technical problems, detailed root cause analysis and provide future mitigating
  • methods and controls
  • Completes project deliverables by coordinating resources and working closely with cross-functional teams, Account Leaders, Project Managers and Clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead management of incidents,
  • Analyze and remediate complex technical problems, detailed root cause analysis and provide future mitigating methods and controls
  • Ensure that IT processes are fully documented.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science or related field preferred
  • This position requires at least 10 years of IT Management experience.
  • 10+ or more years of Technical Operations Leadership, Team Leadership & Mentoring
  • 5+ Project Planning & Management Application Development and support in an Insurance-centric environment a plus
  • Experience supporting applications and databases on EC2 instances required
  • Ability to work with and lead cross-functional project focused teams as needed
  • Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills
  • Experience translating business requirements to technical data requirements
  • Risk Management

Technical Qualifications

  • Managing migration projects from on prem infrastructure to cloud-based environments
  • Relevant AWS Certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, Database Specialty, Kubernetes Developer, etc) a strong plus
  • Other
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and oversee multiple initiatives

Must have a US valid indefinite work permit

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $131,300 - $243,800.
