Summary

The Senior Manager of Capital Equipment Procurement will lead and oversee the strategic sourcing, procurement, and contract management of capital equipment for our food and beverage operations, with a specific focus on dairy processing, packaging equipment, and aseptic/UHT equipment. This role is critical in ensuring the timely acquisition of high-quality equipment at optimal costs, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and mitigating risks.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for capital equipment, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supplier relationship management, with a specific focus on dairy processing, packaging equipment, and aseptic/UHT equipment.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and specialized suppliers, leveraging partnerships to drive value and innovation.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate complex contracts, including long-term agreements, service contracts, and performance-based contracts, ensuring optimal terms and conditions for the organization.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and regulatory compliance challenges.
  • Cost Optimization: Drive continuous cost reduction and value optimization through strategic sourcing initiatives, leveraging economies of scale and supplier consolidation.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, including delivery timelines, quality standards, and cost performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, quality assurance, and finance, to ensure alignment and support for procurement initiatives.
  • Innovation: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in the food and beverage industry, particularly in dairy processing and aseptic packaging. Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement to drive operational efficiency and cost savings.
     

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive procurement experience in the food and beverage industry, with a strong focus on capital equipment, particularly dairy processing, packaging equipment, and aseptic/UHT equipment.
  • Deep understanding of procurement principles, strategies, and best practices in the food and beverage industry, including regulatory compliance and food safety standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Experience working in a large, complex food and beverage organization.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards, such as FDA, USDA, and HACCP.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

 Compensation Range: $118,400.00 - $177,600.00, plus bonus.
