 The Senior IT Project Manager oversees various system projects and/or programs of a highly complex nature. The Senior IT Project Manager work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior IT Project Manager assembles and leads project team, identifies appropriate resources needed, and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of project. Often actively manages stakeholder partnerships and mitigates risks. Familiar with the system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team. When managing programs, oversees the interdependencies and integration of interrelated projects, and sets strategies and leads program execution to deliver longer term business value. Can possess specialized knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) frameworks used to manage risks and issues unique to technology projects. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

This is a Dual Senior Program Manager role for our Network Engineering department.  The role has a need for both Program Management and Scrum Manager skills; and experience monitoring and controlling technology focused Infrastructure projects. The Senior Program Manager work assignments are often complex and require critical problem solving. Seniority in the following areas is key:

 

  • Responsible for facilitating the ongoing design and implementation of enterprise-sized projects (SDWAN experience a bonus)
  • Quality enterprise-level Program Management and Agile Scrum Manager
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated Stakeholder Relationship management (all organizational levels)
  • Coordination with internal and external teams and leadership; vendors and other key stakeholders
  • Highly organized (schedule management, RACI, RAID, Financial Management)
  • Practice good judgement and creative thinking
  • Professionally assertive

The perfect candidate will be able to make decisions regarding teamwork approach/priorities and set direction. Work is independent and often guided by good judgement and/or documented procedures/regulations/professional standards with interpretation. Courageously question status quo and simultaneously propose solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of hands-on technical experience.

  • 5 or more years' experience leading technical projects such as Data Center/Cloud migrations and buildouts, Warehouse, SD-WAN, M&A consolidation, Remote Access, etc.

  • Technical understanding of Core Network Infrastructure and Cloud engineering terminologies such as BGP, TCPIP, IPSEC, IP schema, SD-WAN, VNET peering, circuits (Ethernet, DWDM, Express Routes, Direct Connect, etc.

  • Demonstrated experience in technical product selection, technical design and practical implementation of IT solutions.

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Longevity working in data warehouse, decision support and reporting system environments

  • Working knowledge of Oracle and IBM Relational Database Management Systems, executive information systems and statistical software packages

  • Comprehensive knowledge of development languages, tools, and utilities, including Cobol, CICS, DB2, ASP, COM, .Net and SQL

  • Six Sigma and/or Project Management Institute certification

  • Experience in the health solutions industry

Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$104,000 - $143,000 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
