WHEN & WHERE YOU’LL WORK:

Remote: This position is fully remote and open to candidates within the United States.

Schedule: This position will frequently interact with our international teams, therefore requiring early work times.

Travel: This role will require car and air travel up to 25% of time including international travel.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Sr. International Product Manager is responsible for advancing Tandem Diabetes Care’s international product portfolio. This leader will help manage the product portfolio serving Tandem’s customers in international markets alongside the Principal Product Manager, International. They will represent the voice of the international Customer and voice of the international business in the product development process. They will work in partnership with product and platform line leaders to ensure that configurations meet the needs of international market. They will support product line leaders to manage roadmaps. This expert will work collaboratively across the company, and with outside partners with a specific focus on engagement with International downstream teams, R&D, Program Management, Clinical and Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Operations, Human Factors, User Experience and Global Marketing.

The Sr. International Product Manager at Tandem is also responsible for:

  • Develops and secures stakeholder buy in to the strategy for and definition of Tandem’s portfolio of international products, specifically around pump platforms and clinical enabling technologies. Manages their configuration, scope and roadmap timing through launch, scaling and end-of-life working closely with the Commercial team and product leadership.
  • Identifies market-specific requirements, including hardware, software, packaging and labeling, by gathering of voice of customer (VOC) information and proposes plans for the evolution of key elements of Tandem’s portfolio, along with ongoing maintenance and recommendations for the improvement of in-market offerings, all supported by robust business cases.
  • of these plans in roadmaps that provide direction for cross-functional teams.
  • Engages with peers in Tandem’s product management and product delivery functions, including Engineering, PMO, Regulatory and Quality Affairs, to translate market and user requirements into specific product requirements and supports their ongoing prioritization of features and market level configurations consistent with product roadmaps.
  • Works closely with Compliance, Medical Affairs, Legal, Privacy, Cyber and Regulatory Affairs to drive awareness of and develop coordinated approaches to alignment on compliance requirements in international markets.
  • Engages with Product Marketing and Market Access to identify and propose appropriate marketing and reimbursement strategies and messaging for new and in-market products, including content for product education and training for distributors, HCPs and patients, with a focus on adaptation for international markets.
  • Works collaboratively with distributors and external partners. Identifies further opportunities to engage exte, and the primary contact for related roadmap and strategy questions.
  • As required, engages with clinical Key Opinion Leaders to create a strong network and drive ideation/creation of industry state of the art intelligence.
  • Communicates with management on product performance issues or market changes relevant to scope of role.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 8 years’ related experience in a combination of product management, product development, and/or product planning with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Direct work experience delivering commercial products and services, ideally in consumer facing medical devices with mobile app and international requirements.
  • Skilled in translating international business needs, regulatory guidance, and research into market and user requirements and establishing clear short- and medium-term roadmaps for individual countries and markets.
  • Experience in assembling and configuring a product portfolio for diverse geographic markets, with due consideration to commercial stakeholder requirements, market access needs, regional compliance, and distributors.
  • Experience in product management in integrated systems encompassing hardware, software, data and cloud components, strong knowledge of product management processes and systems.
  • Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections, and influences others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile and waterfall development methodologies.
  • Solves unique problems with broad impact on the business.
  • Anticipates and plans for clinical, compliance and regulatory issues as it relates to delivering medical devices to market.
  • Skilled at clearly conveying in-depth knowledge to all levels within, and outside of, the organization.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment and establish cooperative relationships with peers, key functional owners, and senior leadership.
  • Able to objectively evaluate situations and make recommendations for changes considering project demands.
  • Foundational knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines: Clinical and regulatory, reimbursement, product development, product marketing, operations, financial planning.
  • Advanced computer and computer software skills, to include Microsoft Office products, CRM, and proprietary databases.

EXTRA AWESOME:

  • Master’s degree preferred, MBA a positive.
  • Advanced marketing and/or project management training is desirable.
  • Experience interacting with physician and other clinical stake holders desirable.
  • General understanding of the diabetes industry; direct experience preferable.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base pay range for this position is $125,200 - $156,500 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.
