Salary:  $130k-$150k base (to commensurate with experience)

As the Senior Director of Field Marketing, your mission is to bring a dash of fun and excitement to our programs and services. From sprucing up the cafeteria environment to developing new campaigns and programs to drive participation, meal growth, and retail sales, you'll lead a team of Field Marketers who make magic across the country, as well as behind the scenes.
Your role oversees the detailing and refining of our marketing standards, strategizing on solutions to improve student and operator experiences, and leading efforts to drive participation in school meal programs. We're on the lookout for someone with excellent communication skills, is a critical thinker, and has a heart that beats for service, both internally with our operators and externally with the clients, students, parents, and school communities we partner with.

Responsibilities:

  • Vision and Strategy: plan, develop, and implement both revenue generation and brand activation strategies that position Chartwells as the industry leader. Partner with national Operations, Culinary, Nutrition and Finance teams to create engaging and participation-driving programs with measurable success for participation and meal growth.
  • Retail: lead the front-of-house snack and beverage program’s go-to-market strategy including assortment selection, merchandising, and marketing to drive impulse, a la carte purchases and category growth. Partner with our procurement partners (Foodbuy), as well as Culinary, Purchasing, and Nutrition teams to ensure proper compliance, and campaign calendar management.
  • Environments and Experience: leverage insights and operations expertise to lead all aspects of our environments program including concept design, project management, vendor selection and partnership. Elevate our environments program to create an innovative cafeteria experience for both students and Chartwells operators.
  • Market Research: facilitate strategy for stakeholder survey process and other feedback mechanisms. Provide thought leadership on participation trends and competitive analysis, turning those insights into actionable next steps.
  • Sales and Retention Support: provide expertise on concepts and program communication, as well as marketing-specific content.
  • National Project Support: participate in national impact projects as requested.
  • Talent Development: consistently develop Field Marketing Directors and Managers, facilitating development plans and appropriate learning paths

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, or in similar roles with demonstrated ability to develop and implement programs that provide outstanding customer experiences
  • Foodservice and/or K-12 experience preferred, but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to lead implementation and produce positive outcomes by working through teams
  • Experience in leading, mentoring, and coaching a team in a remote environment
  • Creative and curious thinker able to identify emerging business and cultural trends relevant to target audiences, make decisions in changing environments and anticipate future needs
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical initiatives
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior leadership, as well as clients, customers, and associates
  • Ability to travel up to 50% as determined by business needs.
