A DAY IN THE LIFE:
The Sr. Director, Market Access Marketing & Strategy will be responsible for leading initiatives that support the market access team and developing payor engagement strategies. This role will focus on building compelling payor value presentations, devising multi-channel access strategies, conducting payor research, establishing access forecasts/roadmaps, and driving National Drug Coding (NDC) strategy. The individual will work cross-functionally to create impactful pull-through materials for the sales team, partnering closely with sales training to ensure effective implementation. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of market access dynamics, payor value communication, and the broader commercial landscape of both MedTech and pharmaceutical products.
YOU’RE AWESOME AT:
- Develops and refines payor value decks to effectively communicate the value proposition of our products to payors and other key stakeholders.
- Supports the market access team in devising cross channel access strategies that ensure optimal product placement and reimbursement.
- Conducts payor research to identify trends, coverage opportunities, and risks, providing insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Drives (NDC) and Compendium strategies for competitive positioning.
- Drives pricing initiatives to optimize value while considering payor requirements and market dynamics.
- Develops co-pay assistance strategy that ensure affordability and reduce barriers to access for patients.
- Creates pull-through materials for sales teams in collaboration with sales training, ensuring that market access initiatives translate into actionable field strategies.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Finance, and Customer Care, to align strategies and execution.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
EXTRA AWESOME:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Management, Marketing, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in market access, payor strategy, or related roles within medtech or pharma, with demonstrated success in developing payor strategies and value communication.
- Proven experience in market access, payor strategy, and value communication within medtech and/or pharmaceutical industries.
- Strong understanding of payor landscape, including coverage, reimbursement, and pricing dynamics in commercial and government books of business.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop compelling payor value presentations and pull-through materials.
- Strong understanding of health economics – with the ability to distill the complex into an effective value story.
- Ability to conduct market research and derive actionable insights to inform multi-channel access strategies.
- Cross-functional collaboration experience with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Finance, and Sales Training teams.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive market access plans.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting base pay range for this position is $217,000 - $270,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.
