The purpose of the Sr. Director, Diversity in Clinical Trials role is to define and implement the strategy for inclusive representation in clinical trials by participants and investigators by working across the greater Clinical Design Delivery & Analytics (CDDA) organization, and external collaborators. This role will be responsible for oversight and tracking of the strategy and working with internal and external partners to understand and address the challenges within various populations toward accessing clinical trials. This role will leverage and work with key team members to ensure appropriate communication and knowledge sharing to complement and learn from other diversity initiatives. This role also includes influencing key decisions with the CDDA leadership through tracking and reporting metrics.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategy Development and Delivery
Accountable for the design, implementation and oversight of participant centric external engagement strategies to ensure appropriate representation across therapeutic area portfolios that align with organizational goals
Develop expertise on the cultural norms for the various underrepresented populations, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, age, gender identity, sexual orientation and ability
Lead the engagement with internal and external groups to gain cultural understanding of the social determinants of health for all underrepresented populations
Lead and influence cross functional communication and shared learning to ensure common understanding of accountabilities and innovative practices across groups
Identify and drive the adoption of approaches/tactics that may be new, different or innovative to remove barriers
Build and maintain key customer relationships (e.g., academia, advocacy, professional organizations, government entities) to support Lilly strategy around increasing diverse representation …
