POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Sr. Director, Business Development (Individual Contributor), you will join the Swing Education Revenue team to manage all of our pipelines to generate new “Sales Accepted Leads” in each of our territories.  You will develop and execute a consultative sales strategy to drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience working in a startup environment, demonstrating the ability to adapt, strategize, and help scale organizations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a thought leader by having a pulse and opinion on industry trends, news, and policy changes. 
  • Develop and maintain strategic multilevel customer relationships to uncover specific needs and behaviors of key decision makers.
  • Ability to build and defend through proof points and in delivery of our capabilities and service offerings in support of client needs.
  • Share market insights with the broader marketing, revenue, and product teams in order to drive deeper alignment between Swing strategy and market needs.
  • Expert in what we do and how we do it, to solve clients’ problems and enable them to achieve agreed-upon metrics.
  • Leverage market insights and knowledge of Swing’s goals to develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of the business with the ability to engage executives at different levels of the organisation to secure necessary support and resources.
  • Collaborate with marketing and revenue team leadership to create joint demand generation strategies in order to hit new business growth targets.
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage partnerships with organizations, associations, and relationship consultants that will support Swing’s growth goals. 
  • Assess and adjust the business development strategies based on performance and the changing needs of the Swing go-to-market team.  

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, with a proven track record in strategic planning, partnership development, and team leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically, with a strong proficiency in market research, data analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Highly motivated Hunter mentality
  • Self starter with a large network 
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to travel up to 15% as needed
  • High attention to detail with the ability to efficiently prioritize and execute projects with quality
  • Strong communicator, naturally curious, and genuinely cares about client outcomes
  • Experience managing external relationships to meet mutually beneficial goals
  • Solution-oriented mindset that thrives in ambiguity and figuring out solutions and processes to complex problems
  • Comfortable in analyzing dashboards and utilizing spreadsheets to extract and clearly communicate insights from murky data
  • Bias for action with a scrappy willingness to roll up your sleeves and go the extra mile to persist and get the job done
  • Team player with a genuine desire to contribute to the overall success of the entire team in addition to strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate internally with colleagues
